The below can be used to set an offset in minutes to alter the displayed timestamp. So, for example, someone in CST (which is UTC-6) will use an offset of -6*60=-360. Autodetect should find your offset automatically using javascript.
Check the below if you want the logs to attempt to render links in a pretty manner
The below can be used to set a colour for each user's name, overriding the automatically generated colours. Saved colours are displayed in order of priority. Notify allows you to receive push notifications for replies mentioning that name.

03:53:01 Devastator: mmm.
03:53:05 Devastator: revenant, ER.
03:53:09 ER: oh?
03:53:16 Devastator: thinking about joining.
03:53:18 Devastator: not sure.
03:53:43 ER: that *would* save me from the edgy escaped lunatic :P
03:53:54 Devastator: Yeah, that's a hell of a charsheet.
03:54:00 Devastator: but we were all lunatics once.
03:54:04 Devastator: except me, I was born old. ;-p
03:54:17 Devastator: also, don't know if you'd accept my character. ;-p
03:54:41 ER: I don't want to accept him, but I also don't really want to have to explain why. which wouldn't really be fair; he's just a noob
03:54:53 ER: depends on what it is
03:55:46 Devastator: something recently dead with flesh on it.
03:56:11 ER: I'd love that. everybody keeps giving me skeletons :P
03:56:39 Devastator: ok
03:58:21 Devastator: grr, don't have a name.
03:58:44 ER: `namegen
03:58:44 GameServ: Some names to ponder: Scaunydd, Moldbin, Hararorn, Pavanecamjuin, Ruskyvaler, Wearnonteas, Browant, Chiesollergine, Rylocro, Jescamalleren, Uraynayne, Aljuin, Yarydiam, Kilantcamarty, Walnalter, Yaridomyd, Urontta, Sepydarty, Kiraer, Locjuinasnyd.
04:15:28 Devastator: Posted.
04:16:55 Devastator: wait, Moldbin?
04:16:57 Devastator: gotta use that.
04:18:19 ER: Heh, I did say sapient, but I'll take it
04:18:56 Devastator: Undeath made him smarter, maybe.
04:19:22 Devastator: I'll either assume he can talk mentally or just write stuff.
04:21:19 Devastator: or take a point for 'literate' or 'unnaturally smart' ;-p
04:21:26 Devastator: could drop the healing down to +1, hmm..
04:21:29 Devastator: yeah, I'll do that.
04:22:39 Devastator: nah, too widespread. I'll take Literate.
04:24:54 Devastator: Hmm, I know..
04:26:09 Devastator: There.
04:26:20 Devastator: That should do it.
04:31:11 Devastator: should be lots of room for STRANGE AND WONDEROUS adventures. ;-p
04:31:42 ER: you a fan of Blackwing from OotS? :P
04:34:01 Devastator: No, not really.
04:34:09 Devastator: just seems a bit more explicitly undead. ;-p
04:34:09 ER: aww
04:34:21 Devastator: Blackwing is fine, but there's lots of undead birds.
04:35:33 Devastator: Should fit in well with any group, really.
04:36:49 Devastator: and develop in any direction.

04:47:05 syv: HISSSSSS
04:47:24 Devastator: heya snake.
04:47:30 Devastator: snake okay with bird?
04:47:32 Devastator: ;-p
04:47:35 syv: Cat, not snake. >:(
04:47:39 ER: snek
04:48:03 Devastator: heya cat.
04:50:16 Devastator: mostly just wanted to use the line about 'There is an afterlife, and it's this one'.
04:50:17 Devastator: ;-p
04:51:26 syv: That crow is a very Dev character, except for the skill list.
04:52:00 Devastator: oh?
04:52:13 Devastator: what would be a me character?
04:52:35 Devastator: in general I want characters that do things wrong or that can become excessively powerful. ;-p
04:52:41 Devastator: this one is in the latter category.
04:52:56 syv: Just lacking the bonus healing things and the brain eating ability.
04:53:21 Devastator: Nah, I wanted the bonus healing because the character was supposed to be able to appear living, and didn't want to get saddled with wounds.
04:53:35 Devastator: plus it seemed useful, really.
04:53:52 Devastator: the brain eating ability was because I had an extra one and wanted something mental.
04:53:54 syv: Yes, it *is* useful.
04:54:05 syv: Hence, not a Dev character~
04:54:11 Devastator: Hah.
04:54:12 ER: hey look, corpse absorbstion
04:54:24 syv: I literally thought the same thing, yeah.
04:54:32 Devastator: Nah, normally it's something that everyone thinks is useless but ends up being useful.
04:54:54 syv: ...Hahahahaha...
04:55:07 Devastator: I still remember buying those candles in Wizards! and making earplugs immediately before running into the boss that killed with sound.
04:55:09 Devastator: ;-p
04:56:49 Devastator: although those were intended for something else.
04:56:56 Devastator: was going to make markings on the featureless marble plain.
04:57:48 syv: Yeah, candles are useful.
04:58:26 Devastator: I think it was the lightning that suggested the earplugs to me. Was thinking there might be some thunder.
04:59:47 Devastator: glad you liked the bird.
04:59:50 Devastator: was surprised at your lamia.
05:00:27 ER: Hum, I wonder if this party has language issues
05:00:31 syv: I thought a lovestruck skeleton would be amusing.
05:00:54 Devastator: yours or whatever other skeletons you run into? ;-p
05:01:03 syv: Mine.
05:01:20 syv: I... feel like not many people are going to fall in love with a skeletal snake lady.
05:02:56 Devastator: I was expecting other undead creatures, really.
05:03:02 Devastator: and that just means you aren't trying hard enough! ;-p
05:03:57 ER: well, I love Mrush'shalva :)
05:05:14 Devastator: Mmm, going to have to abbreviate that.
05:05:16 Devastator: Mush?
05:05:23 Devastator: hmm.
05:05:28 Devastator: maybe go for the four-armed snakelady?
05:06:12 syv: "Mrush"
05:06:28 syv: Or Shalva.
05:06:40 syv: A name with an interruption in the middle lends itself to abbreviations.
05:06:52 syv: I could see giving her four arms. What do you think, ER?
05:07:38 ER: mmm, you know that I like four arms
05:08:03 ER: perhaps she didn't have them in life but now inexplicably finds herself with an extra pair~
05:08:21 ER: a lot can happen in seven and a half centuries
05:10:49 syv: Let's say Lamia just have four arms in this world.
05:11:37 ER: You're the arbiter of that, I suppose
05:12:07 ER: kind of wanted to write the moment of "wtf, where did these extra hands come from"
05:12:59 syv: Edited!
05:13:08 ER: there is kitten here
05:13:12 syv: !

05:21:14 syv: You keep tabs open a long time, huh?
05:21:26 syv: Admittedly I think I still have that tab open, but I have thirty open.
05:21:35 ER: some of them~
05:22:10 syv: The bookmarks I don't know.
05:22:18 syv: "Index of ERLOGS" is easy.
05:22:20 syv: The others...
05:22:21 ER: taskbar is chrome, fileexplorer, steam, discord, IRC, notepad, paint.net, and calculator
05:22:57 ER: three of them are bookmark folders, which I guess is the alternative solution to infinite tabs
05:23:02 syv: ...calculator?
05:23:19 ER: yes, I keep windows calculator app on my taskbar
05:23:24 ER: math is hard
05:23:27 syv: You can open that quick and easy with win+R and then typing "Calc"
05:23:32 Devastator: heh, right now I have random.org, Revenant, and Extinction open, along with the game of the CTWC I'm watching.
05:23:36 syv: Though I mostly just use google.
05:23:37 Devastator: nah, it's a good spot for it.
05:24:22 syv: My hotbar is... file explorer, task manager, firefox, VLC, NP++, paint, Steam, qBT, Audacity.
05:24:45 ER: visible bookmarks are ERLOGS, google drive for some reason, my bank, b12 updated topics, then a folder for gamedev sites, a folder for webcomics, and a folder for random sites
05:25:07 ER: and at the very left, the icon for youtube, which just leads to youtube.com
05:25:43 ER: very right
05:25:50 syv: Hum, turning the search bar off was easy. I should have done that a long time ago.
05:26:09 syv: And task manager is now redundant, right clicking on the bar gives it as an option.
05:26:12 ER: windows 10 search bar? yup
05:27:03 ER: easier to click an icon on the bar than to rightclick it and then click an option
05:28:00 Devastator: I type too many URLs to get rid of that.
05:28:11 Devastator: I do have it doing no searches via it.
05:29:07 ER: I think you mean something different from us, dev
05:29:28 ER: windows 10 has a search bar at the bottom, as part of the taskbar, by default
05:29:57 Devastator: oh, right.
05:30:00 Devastator: sorry.
05:30:52 ER: it would be pretty silly for anyone to turn off the address bar in their internet browser of choice
05:31:55 Devastator: most people did, though, they shoved searchbars into them.
05:34:32 syv: That'snot turning them off though.
05:34:44 syv: I type URLs mostly and still use it as a searchbar too.

05:50:39 Devastator: Cyncarthalynquine.
05:52:44 syv: That sounds like a chemical.
05:53:59 Devastator: yes.
06:14:06 ER: words words words
06:14:09 ER: Revenant
06:14:39 ER: 2/5 characters complete, of the first half of the introduction :P
06:17:09 syv: In AoTTG, when you reload your blades, you drop your old blades.
06:17:37 syv: Blades are actual physical objects in the gameworld; they slide down slopes, bounce off objects, and come to rest on the ground.
06:17:53 syv: They can also be grabbed by a player's grapples.
06:17:59 syv: But they can't be *aimed* at.
06:18:25 syv: You can only grab them accidentally, by them falling in front of your grapples while they're being fired through the air.
06:18:58 syv: If you grab them, your grapples are rooted to the spot that they collided, and will pull you to that point in the air, forever. Until you let go.
06:19:33 syv: This means, theoretically, you can always drop your blades, then *grab* your blades in midair, to launch yourself even higher.
06:19:48 syv: But it requires better-than-frame-perfect timing.
06:19:51 ER: tell the aottg2 people to implement grapping onto moving objects or physics objects :P
06:20:01 syv: Already planned!
06:20:19 ER: and with physics object you should pull them towards you as well as yourself towards them
06:20:40 Devastator: heh.
06:20:42 ER: leading to fun physics kaizo levels where you have to use this in some absurdly deadly way~
06:21:22 syv: Currently I'm trying to write custom code for Riblei, so he can make a co-op race.
06:21:45 syv: But coding with AoTTG's terrible pseudocode is a pain, and it's easy to get distracted.
06:31:33 Devastator: hmm.
06:43:38 Devastator: finally figured out how to make a 'fun' car.
06:43:46 Devastator: you take a normal city can and remove half the safety equipment.
06:43:58 Devastator: that makes it a lot lighter, so it's zippier.
06:44:42 ER: who needs that stuff anyways
06:45:04 syv: Can... can you sell it?
06:45:19 Devastator: yeah.
06:45:56 syv: Is it more expensive than the one without safety equipment?
06:46:11 Devastator: it's not that low, just down to a 20-ish rating instead of 25.
06:46:15 Devastator: and it's cheaper, which also helps.
06:46:28 Devastator: but the regular city market wants safety equipment more than they want the car to be zippier.
06:46:41 Devastator: the fun market cares a lot less about that.
06:50:07 Devastator: there are also some things that are quite different. They want the top speed to be near the redline, not low into the top gear like the normal market.
06:51:14 Devastator: they're also big fans of a few premium features, like an advanced limited-slip diff and ABS brakes.
06:52:01 syv: So... again, can you sell the vaugely tuned car with less safety for a higher price than the safe car that's actually more expensive?
06:52:23 ER: less demand though, prolly
06:52:36 syv: Surely.
06:57:16 Devastator: No, plain City car budget is 500 bucks higher.
06:57:25 Devastator: so they'll buy the standard trim ones for more.
06:58:12 Devastator: but this gives me a better shot at the extra 840-ish buyers who want a Fun car, not a City car, and it's easily doable with a trim.
06:58:34 Devastator: Also, being cheaper it'll sell more into the even more downmarket budget demos who simply can't buy the full price model.
07:17:22 Devastator: ugh, that was counter-intuitive.
07:17:41 Devastator: to get value out of adding a turbo, I had to tune it so it gets about 12% more power and is choked to hell on the fuel intake.
07:18:00 Devastator: that's the only way to keep high fuel efficiency.
07:19:18 Devastator: It makes sense in retrospect, but I really need to add fuel injection. I'll do that sometime in the 90s.
07:25:34 Devastator: yeah, it's the dead-flat torque curve that helps driveability a lot.
07:25:55 Devastator: 72.9, which is higher than the GT tuned V12 car I have.
07:26:16 Devastator: so basically you put the pedal down and the car accelerates extremely smoothly.
07:26:33 Devastator: This game is so detailed.
07:26:55 Devastator: Huh.
07:26:57 Devastator: ariane.
07:27:22 Devastator: Guess we're gonna sit on the stairs until she's ready.
07:30:11 Devastator: yeah, that's the most driveable car I've ever made.
07:30:22 Devastator: that GT car was 64.3
07:46:43 Devastator: nifty.

10:17:10 Devastator: sekiro had animal scaring fireworks?
10:17:15 ER: yup
10:17:16 Devastator: or are they supposed to be useful?
10:17:25 ER: they are very useful
10:17:48 ER: they do also stagger humans, but they're extra good against animals
10:18:32 Devastator: mmm.
10:19:58 sy: They're ridiculously OP.
10:20:02 sy is now known as syv
10:20:35 syv: Basically always give you two or three free attacks on any enemy, and can immediately be spammed right after attacking.
10:21:08 syv: They also interrupt almost any animation, and deal heavy damage to the... *true* healthbar?
10:21:59 syv: And yes, they're even *better* against animals.
10:22:23 Devastator: that's something.
10:22:29 syv: One of the hardest bosses is an animal, and you can almost skip its first stage by spamming firecrackers. And that's the actually difficult stage.
10:22:42 syv: Sekiro's prosthetic system is just offensively broken.
10:22:57 syv: Most of the tools are just useless or extremely niche.
10:23:01 Devastator: and right, the true healthbar, because you have to wound guys so they don't regen health from the true bar, right?
10:23:52 syv: Yeah, if you max out poise, you can instakill them. But their poise constantly regens at a rate based upon their HP. If HP is down to 0, they also instantly max poise, but poise usually hits max long before then anyway.
10:24:13 syv: Firecrackers don't touch HP, but are worth several attacks in terms of Poise damage.
10:25:08 ER: and yet strangely for the player character maxing out your poise means nothing but probably eating a free hit
10:25:39 ER: and you will very likely die to vitality loss sooner than getting poise broken
10:27:19 syv: I really dislike how Sekiro's combat system is broadly. "You have one good attack. Your basic attack. Almost everything else (of like thirty attacks) has a significant downside to balance a minor upside, except for the three or four things that are all upside and are easily spammable, but have limited uses."
10:27:51 ER: yeah, it's kinda fucked
10:28:10 ER: the core loop is really really good, and then they had more content they needed to add
10:28:19 syv: There's a couple little exceptions, like floating passage being pretty decent against mooks and for chip damage, but the vast majority of the options are just irrelevant.
10:28:45 ER: probably would have been better served adding more base movesets rather than the special moves and tools
10:29:32 ER: axe shinobi! dagger shinobi! bow shinobi!
10:29:43 ER: see, that would have been more fun
10:31:10 syv: Like Dark Souls!
10:31:32 ER: heh
10:32:45 Devastator: Yes.
10:33:32 ER: I hope that Elden Ring isn't just a dark souls retread, but has more sensible design than sekiro
10:33:47 syv: I'd be totally okay with a dark souls retread.
10:33:51 Devastator: six of one..

10:35:42 ER: bloodborne: "you're playing dark souls wrong, dodge more!"
10:36:00 ER: sekiro: "you're playing dark souls wrong, block more!"
