00:50:58 syv: I watched the first three episodes of Psycho-Pass, four-five years ago. It seemed decent, if a bit too anime. Didn't continue mostly because I stopped hanging out with the person I was watching with.

00:52:11 syv: I saw Sword of the Stranger years ago during a Piecewise movie night, probably the best movie I've seen during one of those. I really loved it and actually felt it was too *short*. Very very good animation.

00:53:16 syv: Planates and ReZero are prolly #3, pretty much strictly on "suffering" and "hard sci-fi" sounding nice. I guess the kino one maybe too, since episodic and watch the best is a solid plan.

00:55:35 syv: "Very strange far future story" sounds unappealing to me. Mecha anime with time dilation might be neat... but eh, mecha anime isn't actually something I like much. Bokurano and Grimgar are just names.

00:57:48 piecewise: So Grimgar is basically an Isekai. A bunch of kids end up in a fantasy world. However, they have no real special powers, no memory of their lives before, or anything like that. So its their struggle to stay alive. quite nice animation most of the time, takes everything seriously.

00:58:47 piecewise: Bokurano is the story of a bunch of kids who get roped into piloting a mech to save the world. It was madoka before madoka was madoka.
