00:00:04 parisbre56: yeah, a large chunk of anime revenue actually comes from figurines and games, apparently
00:00:18 parisbre56: so it makes sense to use it as advertising
00:00:41 parisbre56: but it's even better to just make a good anime and have people buy stuff because they actually like it

02:11:26 Devastator: sorry, was off. What's up?
02:12:56 Devastator: did some chatting with
paris about PS. Forgot to ask him what Ada looks like.
02:13:00 Devastator: What does Sophia look like?
02:15:22 Piecewise: Hey
er, did you update whatever that game is?
02:18:23 syv has joined #einsteinianroulette
02:18:29 syv: Sophia is an angry spiral.

02:35:41 Devastator: did something happen to her,
ER?
04:19:53 Devastator: what a god-awful puzzle.
04:46:26 Devastator: okay, something genuinely smart. The hero was tied up, and put the rope in his inventory to get untied. It even is soemthing specific in universe.
04:50:53 Devastator: and my god, a worse puzzle.
04:51:28 Devastator: That is... nah, still not sure, but that may be the worst puzzle I've ever seen in a puzzle game.
05:12:37 MidJag has joined #einsteinianroulette
05:19:23 Devastator: That's an awful puzzle.
05:20:11 MidJag: Is this some point and click?
05:21:39 Devastator: it's a horrid puzzle.
05:21:48 Devastator: and I grew up on those things.
05:23:32 MidJag: The worst puzzle I ever played was there was one in legend of zelda phantom hourglass. It was a map seal, and it had you literally close the DS to press the seal onto the map. A mechanic which literally never comes up again. I only figured it out when I got frusturated and closed the DS....After copmletly resetting the game and replaying to that point thinking it had glitched or something.
05:25:05 Devastator: That's rough, but I think that puzzle is worse.
05:25:17 MidJag: I was young and stupid. It's pretty obvious in retrospect.
05:25:36 Devastator: I'm shuddering to think how long it'd take me to solve that currently.
05:25:52 Devastator: There's another god-awful one not long before that.
05:26:20 Devastator: The first thing the guy leads out his intro with is mentioning that the game has one horrid bit, and I'm wondering if there's something even worse coming up.
05:28:31 MidJag: That's really quite something.
05:30:31 Devastator: with that one I think you can get into two rythems and get through it, but the chem puzzle is just astounding.
05:31:26 MidJag: I've done actual chem problems that are more intuitive than that.
05:32:05 Devastator: My only hope is that failed mixtures.. fail, but it seems they're false positives.
05:34:51 Devastator: what's the possible number of combinations for five symbols?
05:42:09 Devastator: yeah, that's.. something.
05:46:28 Devastator: I mean, you could get me to brute force that, if you pay me.
05:47:36 MidJag: This is a very odd game
05:48:46 Devastator: Also, draggy update.
05:48:58 Devastator: he went for a swim.
05:49:54 Devastator: A couple of videos later.
05:50:08 Devastator: "This time we should be able to enter the arcade. And this is where the game can go to hell."
05:50:23 Devastator: What is going to come next?
05:55:19 Devastator: oh dear lord, it's getting built up.
05:55:42 Devastator: and it has a NPC warning about it.
05:59:28 Devastator: you have to play really, really shitty minigames to have enough tokens to play the game required for progress.
06:06:55 Devastator: the guy cheats through it.
06:10:26 Devastator: oh, and 14 attempts at the grabber machine to get the prizes.
06:12:28 Devastator: thank god the big machine is a FMV.
06:15:32 Devastator: but yeah, minigames that are both difficult and thoroughly awful.

10:37:26 Devastator: maybe someone else can post, or
PW can ask for more flesh or something.
10:37:31 Devastator: ..maybe the game's too complicated.
10:38:26 Devastator: like way too complicated.
10:38:40 er: Right now I'm going for a walk, because the sun is rising.
10:39:25 syv: It's definitely too complicated. I wouldn't rate it as so complicated that it's a big problem, but it definitely falls on the too complex side of the mean.
10:40:13 syv: That too, but mean isn't the one I meant.

11:12:09 er: So how far are you in Unsounded? ;D
11:14:07 er: Hurry up and get to chapter 14, its gooood!
11:14:36 er: Or, you know, spend your time how you like.
11:18:05 syv: "Paint what Saeko probably looks like from Ekrov's perspective."
11:18:11 syv: And Dubs links... Homura...?
11:19:12 syv: Hey,
Devastator. Does Saeko look like Homura?
11:19:33 Devastator: Could be, really, just dressed differently.
11:22:37 er: Is that who the picture was?
11:22:47 Devastator: yes, that was Homura.
11:22:51 syv: So, dressed differently, with the opposite personality, and a different hairstyle...
11:23:25 syv: Also the desk is bloodstained.
11:26:31 Devastator: yes, but could be similar face, similar eye and hair colour etc. It's not a good likeness, but you could do worse.
11:26:46 Devastator: although really, Saeko's a couple years older.
11:27:25 syv: So Homura, but not scowling and not flatchested.
11:27:34 syv: Which is really a straight improvement.
11:28:52 Devastator: Could be flatchested.
11:29:43 er: What did you just say about scowling
11:30:09 er: I'll have you know that anger is the *best emotion*
11:30:19 Devastator: but basically whatever you want is reasonable, she's like really completely dressed so nothing would be obvious.
11:30:32 syv: That scowls are less appealing than smiles?
11:31:36 er: Also, as they say, "flat is justice"
11:31:58 er: I suppose I'm not too bothered either way though
11:33:28 Devastator: yeah, retired JRPG character, so not quite as young as most of them. ;-p
11:34:27 syv: It has been scientifically proven that flat is actually not justice, aerodynamically speaking.
11:36:43 er: I'm fairly sure that was a pretty simplified model.
11:37:45 syv: Yes, but it's the only available science on the subject, and its results were clear.
11:38:37 Devastator: ok, so she's not flat then.
11:39:35 Devastator: well, she's basically Ekrov's crush, so it'd make sense for that then.
11:39:54 syv: Ekrov could just like flatchested women.
11:40:27 er: Measuring the drag exerted on people with different body shapes sounds like something the air force might do. Are you *sure*? Have you looked at every paper yourself?
11:40:36 syv: His crush is also not really based on her physical traits so much as her personality and... profession? Ehat she does.
11:41:36 Devastator: it makes no real difference.
11:42:01 er: How can you say with certainty that your source is the only science that exists on the subject?
11:42:32 syv: It's the only science that I know to exist on the subject, and in the absence of evidence to the contrary, that's good enough.
11:42:49 syv: At least when the topic is the aerodynamic lift generated by anime tits.
11:43:55 er: Which happens to not be very relevant
11:44:21 Devastator: ..it kinda is, given my explicit indications of how she's going to give herself wings.
11:46:43 er: There is no clear line from justice to aerodynamics
11:46:45 Devastator: so, yeah, aerodynamics matter.
11:48:07 syv: The paper does have severe methodology errors, such as the use of a rigid figure with solid hair, standing in a T-pose agaist a constant wind flow.
11:48:40 Devastator: solid hair sounds more like Nan. ;-p
11:48:44 er: Hey
Piecewise, is Saeko's bust size relevant?
11:49:10 syv: There's no tests of other angles of attack, or tests accounting for the fact that flesh--especially fatty tissue--is very much not rigid.
11:51:52 er: And that's why we need test subjects and a wind tunnel
11:52:14 Devastator: I could roll for it.
11:58:24 syv: Now to figure out what the 94th percentile of breast size is among humans.
11:58:41 er: Someone set the character creation slider too far right
11:59:03 er: But not all the way right for whatever reason
11:59:30 syv: ...Hrm, wait, no. Obvious problem, Saeko has stats too high to be unhealthily overweight, but any statistical analysis of population isn't going to include overweight individuals.
11:59:49 syv: Skews the numbers, damn it.
12:00:53 er: She's a JRPG character, she wasn't created by nature.
12:01:28 Devastator: I doubt someone with d10 end is twiggy.
12:04:57 er: According to flesh scroll mechanics, your physical surface area is 1 to 1 with your strength.
12:05:30 syv: Not twiggy, but not obese either.
12:05:48 er: So someone with d4 strength and d12 endurance must be tiny
12:06:22 syv: Considering rates of obesity, the top 6% of breast size is probably gonna be skewed notably larger than if it only included perfectly healthy individuals.
12:06:36 Devastator: so go with like 11th or whatever seems about right.
12:06:39 Devastator: this isn't scientific.
12:09:05 er: Well? What are the results?
12:22:26 syv: "The datasets used and/or analysed during the current study are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request."
12:23:26 syv: "Yes, please send me the dataset of the breast sie distribution of these women. I need it so I can know precisely how large the breasts of my friends RPG character are."
12:25:41 er: Probably not a request they're unused to
12:26:43 syv: Real pity is that this specific dataset is also asian females in particular. Though other places seem to suggest ethnic varition is fairly minor, only BMI has a large correlation, and they kept track of that.
12:43:16 syv: Ahh, fuck, I actually did find one with both a listed mean and standard deviation.
12:43:22 syv: Now I have to do math. ._.
12:43:33 syv: And figure out what these numbers actually refer to.
12:45:39 er has joined #einsteinianroulette
12:46:52 Devastator: no, less than that.
12:47:23 syv: 94th percentile, you mean?
12:49:02 syv: It's been awhile since I took stats, though.
12:49:43 Devastator: yeah, it was lower than I expected too, but it's right.
13:00:19 Devastator: it's basically 'how many times the standard deviation is 94th percentile.'
13:00:31 Devastator: 1.6σ means +1.6 times, plus the mean.
13:00:36 syv: The anvil symbol means the value of a standard deviation. If the mean average is five, and anvil = 2, something two anvils above the mean (2σ) would have a value of 9.
13:03:48 syv: It's useful for getting a job and calculating breast size of fictional RPG characters.
13:04:53 syv: And then when I'm trying to find a copy of the z score chart in my old textbook, I instead find a calculator which just does the math for me while explaining it.
13:07:38 Devastator: yeah, I had that function on my old calculator.
