00:43:01 Devastator: I had two turns in Cabal where I rolled consecutive ones on 1d10.
00:48:55 Devastator: Bonus idea sounds good.
00:49:03 Devastator: you get a +1 each turn you don't use your crowns.
00:53:01 Devastator: And spuds gets a rank. Yay.
00:53:27 Devastator: Now, will anyone say "I'm Spuds" while spuds is out of the barracks?

01:24:02 Devastator: too bad on doubleking.
01:55:41 Devastator: Also, you misspelled technician in Pathos' new title.
01:55:55 Devastator: I demand that he always be referred to as 'technitian' from now on. ;-p
01:59:00 Piecewise: For some reason my fucking spellcheck isn't working on bay12.
01:59:16 Piecewise: works other places but just completely ignores my horrible spelling elsewhere
02:01:33 Devastator: Ahh, short memories there.
02:02:06 ER: memories better not be short
02:17:49 Devastator: still not sure what do in Cabal.
02:18:07 ER: kill everyone and steal this shit
02:20:20 Devastator: I'm heavily outgunned and don't really care about the items in this airship that aren't mana..
02:20:28 Devastator: I mean, I don't need another transport method.
02:20:55 Devastator: I'm trying to think of a way to make these fuckups less important.

02:27:59 syv: Inverse use die for magical fabric instability is a good idea.
02:28:25 ER: no no, but I said it wasn't a good idea
02:28:43 ER: how could it be a good idea given that I didn't think so at first?
02:29:03 Devastator: I'd be tempted to post that sort of order if I could continue afterwards as if it never happened, just to see it go.
02:29:07 Devastator: but sadly, am out of mana.
02:29:32 syv: I'd make spells have their power rated in *number* of die, though. Perhaps with the upper limit being equal to the current die size. Also, I wouldn't use normal die, just have it be arbitrary dX where X goes up by a set amount, rather than the big jump from d12 to d20.
02:30:23 syv: You have good ideas sometimes, but sometimes you also have bad idea, like saying Dubs' good ideas are bad. I, of course, am the only one eith *exclusively* good ideas~
02:31:04 ER: I guess it's just reflex, you see
02:31:20 ER:
PW is like "hey, let's put a use die here" and I'm like "why"
02:31:47 ER: what are these things even good for, that's what I usually say
02:32:11 syv: Good reflex to have, honestly.
02:32:34 ER: but I mean, gradually increasing risk that reality fucking murders you while turning into a dense soup is a fine use for them!
02:33:19 Devastator: also, meat packing plants are only sorta dangerous.
02:33:19 ER: on a related note, you should read Unsounded up to the current chapter~
02:33:35 ER: it's a malfunctioning automated on
02:33:37 Devastator: I'd pick a robotic warehouse.
02:33:51 Devastator: loads of heavy things, big robots, and every part of the place is reachable by the bots.
02:34:13 syv: I'd pick the center of the sun.
02:34:22 syv: "You killed me. Fuck you."
02:34:30 ER: that's not gonna be entertaining though
02:34:45 ER: also it's not going to be where the person who killed me goes anyways
02:34:46 syv: Clearly you aren't as sore a loser as me.
02:35:14 ER: though yotta has killed me before
02:35:28 ER: I immediately got revenge for that one though
02:41:14 ER:
PW was testing a duel system which was bad. First time we both got really bad rolls for stats, but mine were considerably worse.
02:41:45 syv: If you ever visit, I *need* to see how good you are with my SVD. I wonder if your pistol skill will carry over.
02:42:15 ER: And Yotta's summon was actually good, so he murdered me. I rematched with a new character and rolled maximum ranged skill.
02:42:29 ER: and shot him in the head with a sniper rifle.
02:42:40 syv:
Piecewise, make better systems!
02:43:41 ER: I think I had 20 ranged, he had 1 ranged defense and very little health, so it was pretty much certain that I'd be able to oneshot him.
02:52:47 Devastator: that's pretty nice.
02:59:33 syv: I also have a PS90, and a bunch of other less famous guns. :3
03:01:02 syv: ...Though honestly the SVD is actually kind of a shit marksman rifle. It's usable, not good.
03:01:45 ER: I distinctly remember asking what it's actually good for, but I forgot your answer!
03:03:48 Devastator: "Tie some rope to the giant barbarian in case I need to pull him back."
03:04:01 Devastator: Good job refusing that buff,
RC. ;-p
03:07:05 syv: The SVD is a designated marksman rifle. Essentially, it's a step between assault rifles (used for pitched confrontations between groups of soldiers at relatively short ranges) and sniper rifles (used by individuals at extreme range, to kill specific targets and damage morale with low cost and risk). It's light and mobile enough to be somewhat useful to the infantryman running around alongside allies with ARs, while still
03:08:04 syv: Though when it was introduced it worked pretty well as a sniper rifle.
03:08:13 Devastator: so it tries to do everything, and does some of those badly?
03:08:51 ER: for a man who wants everything, it's good enough most of the time :P
03:09:39 syv: It's less that it's spread too thin, it's... like, a sniper rifle is a minmax build, sacrificing *everything* for range and precision. The SVD is like a generalist sniper rifle, toning down its major advantages so that it's no longer useless in other situations, without toning it down so much that it's no longer competitive.
03:09:51 Piecewise: Library wars is a weird series. It treats firefights like paintball matches that occasionally end in death. Occasionally.
03:09:58 syv: Most of its serious flaws are simply because it's over fifty years old.
03:10:23 syv: Paintball matches are far more tactical than most anime firefights I've seen. Interest piqued!
03:10:38 Devastator: so more lethal than 90% of anime battles then.
03:10:48 syv: (I could go into detail about the SVD, but I doubt any of y'all care.)
03:10:59 Piecewise: It does handle its military and tactics stuff pretty well, I think. I'm not an expert on that or anything really
03:11:10 Piecewise: svd is the one with the really cool skeletal stock right?
03:11:20 ER: so the question is if
PW has ever seen an actual paintball match in his life, and if so if this anime is similar to it in the right ways
03:11:30 Piecewise: What am I thinking of then?
03:12:09 Piecewise: Oh thats the one I was thinking of. I just meant that the stock was hollow
03:12:13 syv: Looks kinda like a skeleton stock I guess, but that term usually means something else. It *does* look sexy.
03:13:10 Piecewise: its a very classic sniper rifle
03:13:14 ER: at the gun store I saw what looked like an AK with a SVD stock, which seemed like a pretty bad idea to me.
03:13:24 syv: Yes. Very influential, as well.
03:13:27 Piecewise: I feel like its one of those archetypical guns that people imagine.
03:13:49 syv: Didn't watch that show yet.
03:14:38 syv: The SVD basically invented the concept of the designated marksman, embedding a sniper-lite in with infantry squads, which is a very wise and valuable tactic. It deserves its fame.
03:15:23 syv: Yes, I've seen that art before. I quite like it.
03:15:36 Piecewise: but did you know they sell 1/12 models of it?
03:16:28 syv: ...Is that selling the gun, or girl? Or both?
03:16:39 Devastator: I suspect they're only selling models.
03:16:48 Piecewise: The girl is just marketing
03:16:58 Piecewise: also, MGS snake eater reference
03:16:58 syv: I'd actually be tempted to buy that, if it's not horrendously expensive.
03:18:06 Devastator: It's about 20 bucks.
03:19:11 syv: Spending money on toys is better than not spending money on toys so I'm not going to think about whether that price is cheap enough.
03:19:41 Devastator: I don't know what it actually is.
03:19:44 Devastator: That's just what the price tag says.
03:20:26 syv: So Japan's economy runs on pennies?
03:21:50 syv: Stop trying to seduce me into your weeaboo figure collection hobby,
Piecewise! >:(
03:22:00 Piecewise: I'm a fan of the p-90
03:23:19 Piecewise: Its a very futuristic sort of gun
03:23:49 Piecewise: The pancor jackhammer is also fun
03:24:02 Piecewise: Probably the most famous weapon that went nowhere
03:24:38 syv: They're showing a PS90, which I actually own.
03:26:57 syv: It's sad that the figures they show partway down the page focus on the girls' heads. I can see the stock of an M82, which is something that's just hilariously large in an anime girl's hands.
03:27:42 ER: it should be marketed to you, but it's not marketed to you~
03:29:27 syv: Maybe it is. Perhaps some of those moonrunes mean "designed for sigh", and we just don't know because we can't read it.
03:29:45 syv: Though the muzzle break in front of the silencer does imply it wasn't designed for *me*.
03:35:23 Piecewise: Gotta market to the weebs
03:35:30 Piecewise: weebs need their waifus
03:35:43 ER: but they're not even selling waifus!
03:35:51 Devastator: no matter how undersized they are compared to the gun. ;-p
03:36:02 Devastator: They do sell waifufigs, don't they?
03:39:57 ER: (damn, shoulda made a brave with a giant minigun totem)
03:40:23 ER: (because that would be TOTALLY practical)
03:41:31 syv: It would be more practical than a screwdriver. Or a watering can.
03:42:24 syv: You'd "only" get that, though.
03:42:55 ER: wait, can't take something bigger than that peashooter?
03:43:53 syv: Have to be able to carry it. I don't think many 15 year old girls could carry an M61. Or any.
03:44:29 Devastator: There is no dakka waifu because Coven ended.
03:44:38 Devastator: Catgirl ben would have been dakka waifu. ;-p
03:45:36 syv: Yeah, 248 lbs for the original, which was slimmed down to 202 lbs. And I was gonna rule that "your own corpse" would be around the maximum I might allow.
03:45:56 ER: have to be able to carry it *without* CC?
03:46:01 syv: So maybe if you were a talent brave with some special genetics.
03:46:31 syv: If I included CC you could just make it "a tank".
03:47:04 ER: gun's gotta be *oversized*!
03:47:10 syv: "Technically it's a melee weapon, and I'm starting as a ward, so I have CC IV, which is enough."
03:47:28 Devastator: Wish for it instead.
03:47:37 Devastator: "I wish I could handle any gun, no matter how large."
03:47:39 syv: @
Devastator Rakiit is gunnwaifu
03:47:57 syv: Same species and armament as catgirl ben~
03:48:03 ER: no, wish to be able to handle that specific gun, because you like it
03:48:40 syv: Be an innocent and just steal all the guns, and hang them in your refuge. Have a nice, badass grey room.
03:49:23 ER: force a ward to wish for you to be able to lift them all at gunpoint
03:52:20 Devastator: No totem bigger than your own corpse?
03:53:30 syv: ...Yes, this seems like a safe statement to make.
03:54:25 ER: but I want to tote around a hilarious gun like Vulcan Raven does!
03:55:31 Devastator: Start with smaller, use TM.
03:55:39 Devastator: Mami uses guns larger than herself, so can you.
03:56:52 ER: achievement unlocked: kill an enemy using a weapon larger than said enemy.
03:57:08 syv: I promise you, if you go looking for a 20mm rotary cannon, you'll find one.
03:57:25 syv: Yeah, I got that when I was two, for a housefly.
03:57:41 ER: guess that's the upside of Atlantis being a fucked up place
03:58:15 Devastator: "Blow up something with a bomb more massive than the item."
03:59:05 syv: Someone should tell RGU to wish for a nuclear weapon larger than any previously created by mankind.
03:59:43 ER: what would sasha use it for?
04:00:01 Devastator: destoying atlantis?
04:01:16 syv: Rebellion would've been very different if Pink Jesus' last wish had been to explode in a nuclear detonation dwarfing any man-made detonation.
04:01:44 Devastator: Homura stops time, tries again.
04:01:50 ER: it also would have confused me about like, character motivation!
04:03:27 ER: though it would make sense for my character, obviously~ "why do you want to blow everything up?" "because fuck the police!"
04:03:55 syv: Madoka wanted to be powerful, and hey, nothing says power like blasting the Earth's crust away and revealing its molten core!
04:04:04 Devastator: "I wish I could just blow everything up."
04:04:48 Devastator: There you go. Person? Check. Vending machine? Check. Building? Check.
04:05:14 Piecewise: This bulkarm is pleasantly chunky
04:06:55 Devastator: How would you interpret that,
syv?
04:07:09 syv: Yes, lots of armor. I like.
04:08:42 Piecewise: even has a full cockpit
04:08:56 Devastator: but it doesn't look like a dinosaur.
04:12:25 Piecewise: Hexa-gear stuff often looks like various animals or things
04:13:11 Piecewise: There's a moose/bull, a bug, an ostrich, a wolf, etc
04:14:20 ER: g i a n t e n e m y c r a b
04:14:51 Devastator: oh, so it doesn't have to be dinosaurs.
04:17:25 Piecewise: there's one I'm looking for right now that is super silly
04:17:32 Piecewise: unreleased as of yet but
04:21:22 Piecewise: Its also called the "Lumberjack"
04:21:49 Piecewise: it has a really big sword but...who cuts trees with a bustersword?
04:22:04 syv: Lumberjacks are known to get around on hovercraft. Right,
Dev?
04:22:23 Devastator: Yes, trees grow all the time in places with nothing but water.
04:22:33 Devastator: (Although, don't some do?)
04:25:06 Piecewise: Hmmm what are those called...mand...something
04:27:56 Piecewise: Hmmm this motor cycle has a demon face in it
04:28:32 syv: Is it not made of thorny skeletons?
04:29:36 syv: Aww, I thought those were skellingtons. :(
04:29:59 ER: "woe be to he who mistakes the rider for the steed"
04:30:25 Piecewise: It is being ridden by a lycanthrope with a sawn off shotgun
04:31:08 syv: That is the most techy lycanthrope I think I've ever seen
04:34:37 Piecewise: Hexagear's "Governors" are pretty weird. There's a cyber knight who uses an entire sword as a bayonet.
04:35:43 syv: Looks like that's a four-shot mag
04:36:10 syv: Also I'mma go fal unconscious now, bye
04:36:31 ER: as the bullet flies through the air, it makes the sound effect *thunk*
04:37:41 Piecewise: What is the weirdest comic book sound effect you've seen?
04:39:03 Piecewise: I didn't say manga...
04:42:59 Devastator: You can use basically anything.
04:44:33 Devastator: Explaining pronounciation sarcastically like they did in the early 80s maybe.
04:46:25 Piecewise: I think the worst I saw was a punch as "ZOUP"
04:47:11 Piecewise: not even a 60's batman "Zap"
04:47:39 Piecewise: the sound of a punch is someone saying "Soup" with a comedy accent
04:48:28 Devastator: I just don't remember them.
05:07:27 Piecewise: ALways gotta remember the useless stuff
05:07:34 Piecewise: just push out all the important crap
05:08:35 Devastator: Good idea for the docs.
