PW said that the mind control thing was a bad idea. Basically, it might work, but the failures are quite bad, and it would be quite expensive at that distance. Remote buffing is possible but very difficult at that level.

23:47:26 ER: But it does mean that now a big part of space warfare is knocking down the enemy's teraport area denial and then just teraporting bombs into them.
23:49:20 ER: Much later you get the Long-Guns, which are just an awesome idea, really. It's a big plasma cannon which fires through a wormhole leading, again, to any place in the galaxy. Unlike terapedoes this CANNOT be blocked, meaning that you can kill anything that you see.
