09:12:46 Nikitian: Yeah, depends on the term. Summoning circle is the common one-way magical transportation means in this genre of fiction.
09:13:53 Nikitian: Ah. Well, again, most of the time that sort of powers (esp. the Alpha) is granted by those with connections to said warm deep regions, so shot in the dark again.

09:15:04 ER: It's a potion grenade that just so happens to bore a hole into the nearest plane, which just so happens to be hell, and as a consequence allows a demon to pass over.
09:16:02 ER: One of the recommended uses for the Alpha is throwing it under something we want to destroy, so that the demon comes out overlapping with the thing and kills it with its acid blood.
09:18:23 ER: So yeah, in-context it's less of a fraustian bargan spell, and more of a "throw a demon at it" grenade. :P
