09:07:08 syv: So, the original idea for "Shadow of the Mechalopolis" was modifying Dubs' SotC system, except it's about small robots joining together in a squad to hunt down giant mecha.

09:08:49 syv: On of the core mechanics was taking off his action phases system, and having your number of actions be determined by size class. Small robots get more actions, bigger robots get fewer. But bigger robots are obviously far more powerful. Can switch bodies and find new ones as well, though that'd be rare.

09:30:25 syv: Better/larger/more bodies lowers your core, making you less capable and giving you less freedom, but you have more raw power and actions because... well, lots of bodies.

Most things should be temporary

Collapse a random building? Sure. Swarm enemies with a bunch of weak berserk builder bots? Sure. Hack and convert an enemy unit? Obviously.
