00:48:42 Devastator: uh oh.
00:48:47 Devastator: Mechsuit turn.
01:38:15 ER has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
01:38:56 ER has joined #einsteinianroulette
02:36:08 ER: well, glad that I went and checked Broodhollow. There were some new pages that I hadn't read before! Added, let's see... just about a year ago. welp?
02:36:54 ER: It's a really good comic, it just might update a *little* too slowly to want to read as a webcomic.
02:40:08 Devastator: mmm.
02:40:23 Devastator: what's that one about?
02:41:34 ER: phychological horror with a neat old-timey art style
02:41:57 ER: even though it's been stalled at the start of book 3 forever, I still recommend reading the first two books
02:41:58 ER: https://broodhollow.chainsawsuit.com/comic/2012/10/08/broodhollow/
02:42:50 Devastator: Ahh, that one.
02:42:56 Devastator: yeah, read it some time go.
02:43:11 ER: the third book has actually been STARTED multiple times, then thrown out and restarted. which may or may not fit well with some of the comic's themes, but does indicate the artist has webcom artist disease
02:45:44 Devastator: Hah.
02:45:51 Devastator: Traditional issue there.
02:45:57 ER: yes ;-;
02:46:12 Devastator: "Wait, how can you be semi-perfect. You're either perfect or you're not me."
02:46:17 Devastator: Hits us all.
02:46:21 Devastator: except PW.
02:46:28 Devastator: I don't know how the skelebones manages to avoid that.
02:46:34 ER: that fucking skeleton
02:46:53 ER: lemmie drink his marrow and become a god like him
02:47:35 Devastator: Also why Kaz updates about once a month.
02:47:45 Devastator: Katia is going to be so screwed soon.
02:47:53 Devastator: no weapons, no hand claws, no mana.
02:48:05 Devastator: gonna be stuck.
02:48:50 ER: hah, once a month?
02:48:56 ER: that's his *goal*
02:49:11 Devastator: yeah.
02:49:14 Devastator: doesn't manage it.
02:49:21 Devastator: but you know what I'm saying.
02:49:28 Devastator: and he usually manages better than 'once every two years.'
02:49:33 ER: the hatmster is in *hat debt*
02:49:53 Devastator: Hmm.
02:50:06 Devastator: you know, you could probably use Kaz as the poster boy for webcomic artist disease.
02:51:18 Devastator: two years.
02:51:21 Devastator: that's up there.
02:52:47 Devastator: is dubs back from his skelebones trip yet? There are questions. ;-p
02:54:57 ER: na
02:55:21 Devastator: aww.
02:55:28 Devastator: best way to irritate the skelebones.
04:36:27 ER: ooh yes, that was an experience https://gregbuchanan.itch.io/american-election
04:40:01 Devastator: well, that's worrying.
05:01:22 Devastator: aww, no slashy in AH.
05:01:57 ER: no, but trash talk
05:02:14 Devastator: ferp does need more modenerifiers
05:05:26 Devastator: wonder what those are going to be for gray-zone multicellular animal life.
05:05:33 Devastator: any guesses?
05:05:52 ER: hm?
05:07:47 Devastator: modifiers.
05:07:51 Devastator: willis couldnt' say them right.
05:19:49 MidJag has joined #einsteinianroulette
05:20:26 Devastator: Hey MJ.
05:20:37 MidJag: Hiya dev
05:21:09 Devastator: "What kinda stuff do you eat again?"
05:21:14 Devastator: so something related to that, somehow.
05:22:03 MidJag: eh?
05:24:02 Devastator: stuff from awful hospital.
05:24:09 MidJag: Ah right.
05:30:18 Devastator: yeah.
05:30:20 Devastator: still fun.
05:30:52 Devastator: Also, Pannen continuing his dissassembly of all that is Mario 64.
05:30:55 Devastator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thuY_6Zr8Qg
05:34:05 Devastator: some new stuff in there I've never heard of.
05:39:44 ER: boop
05:41:11 ER: JANK
05:42:50 Devastator: Also, ran a battle in k-com.
05:42:57 Devastator: guys did ok.
05:45:31 Devastator: "This triggers the Astral Projection glitch."
05:45:33 Devastator: That's a new one.
05:48:23 ER: oh no, scuttlebug homes
05:52:37 Devastator: wandering scuttlebugs.
05:54:40 ER: there's a game mechnaic in sm64 involving butterflies? :V
05:55:30 Devastator: yes
05:55:58 Devastator: apparently.
05:56:56 MidJag: SM64 is an odd game. It handles the going on an adventure and finding secret shit in an old house very well though
05:57:17 ER: jaaaank
05:59:03 syv has joined #einsteinianroulette
05:59:10 MidJag: hoya syv
05:59:19 ER: hola
05:59:24 syv: "Random invisible things in Super Mario 64: The Movie"
05:59:26 MidJag: so ER I heard you were restargin tactihell?
05:59:55 ER: who told you that? :P
06:00:02 syv: I had no idea there was a butterfly 1-up mechanic, and it seems brutal that later the butterflies turn into *bombs*
06:00:03 Devastator: yes.
06:00:06 syv: Nobody.
06:00:09 Devastator: did you get to the JRB element?
06:00:18 syv: I told him you seemed to be warming to the idea.
06:00:38 MidJag: Ah my apologies.
06:00:54 MidJag: I rembered seeing some talk of it in the logs.
06:01:07 syv: A number of those 1-up activators seem pretty unlikely to hit, too, though then again plenty of kids would go and run into every single corner just because.
06:01:27 ER: well, it could happen
06:01:41 syv: yay
06:01:43 MidJag: I would be very down
06:02:13 Devastator: I think he had an earlier video about the 1-up activators.
06:05:41 ER: oh boy, menacing t-pose flying mario
06:06:25 syv: It does look creepy.
06:07:24 ER: guys in my sm64 cartrige mario just t-poses and flies around at high speeds without my input and also his eyes bleed ultra-realistic blood
06:07:57 Devastator: Heh.
06:08:58 MidJag: It's weird how tpose is creepy
06:09:23 MidJag: I've always wondered if it's just because it's associated with broken games or something ele
06:09:30 ER: well, normally he's visibly breathing and looking around
06:09:42 ER: in free movement, he's just... froze
06:09:52 MidJag: Or I'm just kinda drunk.
06:10:00 MidJag: Could be several things.
06:10:27 ER: it's also not any usual pose that people take
06:10:50 ER: but it is the detault for a 3d model which isn't given instuctions
06:11:03 Devastator: well, unless you're being crucified.
06:11:19 ER: it's a reminder just how little game representations resemble reality, despite the illusion
06:12:08 MidJag: jesus, the original glitch char.
06:12:16 ER: okay, ghost ship is weird
06:14:20 Devastator: yes.
06:14:48 syv: I imagine that was some idea that got implemented, but it didn't work as well as they wanted, or confused people, so they shelved it for later. Move it off the map, flag as invisible, work's still there if you come up with something.
06:15:18 syv: Just forgot to clean it before the game shipped. Like the water checker and cannon object.
06:15:49 MidJag: Where is the ghost ship in the video?
06:18:15 MidJag: That broodhollow comic is intresting ER. It seems to involve a man with cripplining OCD deal with ghosts and shit that are actually based off his OCD
06:18:25 Devastator: JRB.
06:18:42 Devastator: mystery objects at about 21 minutes.
06:18:58 ER: it's quite good, mj
06:19:04 MidJag: I like the art style.
06:19:08 MidJag: And the time period
06:30:05 ER: mario be jank
06:30:05 Devastator: hmm.
06:30:12 Devastator: yea, jank.
06:31:05 Devastator: pannen is in deep.
06:33:51 syv: Amusing that cheating in a race is harder than just doing the race.
06:34:49 ER: often the way.
06:35:05 Devastator: usual, yes.
06:42:00 ER: oh yeah, they didn't anticipate that you might, for no practical reason whatsoever, slowly backwards jump kick your way up the slide and activate the shortcut checkpoint and get counted as cheating
06:42:28 Devastator: Yes.
06:45:14 ER: well, jumping down the whole slide and cutting your time massively seems pretty Sick, but nintendo says no star for you if you do it that way :(
06:49:51 Devastator: yeah.
06:49:55 Devastator: but if you do it just right..
06:50:30 syv: I actually commented that after the cannon cheating in the second koopa race.
06:50:39 syv: But both count.
06:51:55 Devastator: mmm
07:03:36 ER: okay, seen the whole thing now
07:04:16 Devastator: thoughts?
07:04:29 ER: spooky ghost ship!
07:04:42 syv: I know now just how valueless one hour of my time is.
07:04:45 Devastator: Yes. That was news to me.
07:04:50 Devastator: Pannen does that.
07:04:56 Devastator: you have no idea why you watched what you just watched.
07:05:02 Devastator: don't look at his videos about walls and floors.
07:05:46 ER: this man knows far too much about a janky old game
07:05:59 ER: and is far too good at getting me to look at it
07:07:16 Devastator: ooh, new OotS
07:07:22 ER: yesh
07:09:12 Devastator: Redcloak has had indirect messages.
07:10:15 MidJag: man, redcloacks god sounds like a dick
07:11:05 Devastator: Dunno.
07:11:30 syv: Would you expect anything else from The Dark One?
07:12:30 MidJag: It's OOTS, I was expecting him to either be a chill dude or a complete dick
07:12:45 Devastator: dark one doesn't say much.
07:12:48 Devastator: was also a mortal once.
07:13:06 Devastator: got deified due to having gobbos kill a million non-gobbos following his assassination.
07:13:28 MidJag: Wait really?
07:13:44 MidJag: ....Is this from start of darkness? Because I never read that
07:14:05 ER: stoopid print-only volumes
07:14:08 Devastator: I didn't either, but that's what it said.
07:14:16 Devastator: I should buy those. I really like OotS.
07:14:21 Devastator: if available.
07:14:29 ER: and I should buy the Unsounded books
07:16:08 syv: No.
07:16:14 syv: Steal the books and donate to charity.
07:16:41 syv: Also buy PM3 merch, I guess.
07:16:42 ER: bonus content only in the print versions
07:16:52 syv: Been scanned, I'm sure.
07:16:55 ER: and giving me money to ashley is fine by me
07:17:09 ER: she does good comic
07:19:30 MidJag: Books are about the one form of media I feel bad about pirating.
07:19:37 syv: Run an unsounded game?
07:19:49 syv: MJ, I think that is the opposite of logical.
07:19:51 ER rubs hands together misheviously
07:20:05 syv: Not certain, but... books are like the *best* thing to be free.
07:20:27 MidJag: Okay, fiction books are the one thing I feel bad about pirating
07:20:32 MidJag: Textbooks I'm all for
07:20:35 syv: Fair 'nuff.
07:20:36 ER: Pymary system would be fun, but I'm not sure if there's a list of all manipulable aspects?
07:20:53 syv: Run a pymary system test.
07:20:54 MidJag: Should have specified
07:20:58 ER: and perceptive glamors are their own weird thing that I don't fully understand
07:21:02 syv: Arena deathmatch, like OG Perplexicon.
07:21:23 ER: pymarics would be fun, if people had time to design and build them
07:39:56 ER: oh yeah, there's also the thing where, you know, we gotta keep track of a large number of different variables and indentities for every material in the world, including when they're magically changed, and set a timer after they're changed before they start getting core leeched, and with core leeches and other opterations increase the local Agitation, and if that gets too high come up with random shit to apply as confoundments
07:40:23 ER: not really an easy magic system to simulate as an RPG, if you want to be fully accurate
07:40:58 Devastator: hah.
07:44:55 ER: would be hella fun tho
07:45:51 syv: You don't need to keep track of all materials and such. Track changes the *players* make, and otherwise just leave it. Adding some kind of cost to a maintained swap might make it more runnable, I suppose, so there's no stacking of a hundred different swaps. Easier if you don't actually set the game itself in Unsounded's world... which is probably for the best anyway.
07:46:25 syv: Core leech timers are just tied to the spells the players cast, tracked like any other maintained sheet effect. Agitation is easy, it's a global value applying to all players.
07:46:36 ER: no, not a cost, just a time before things are either put back or start dissolving
07:47:16 syv: Oh, the core leech happens even if you swap properties?
07:47:39 ER: yeah, you can't do anything really permanant with pymary
07:47:55 syv: So, like, swapping water and stone's solidity means both will be leeched if not fixed? Huh. I assumed it just needed some value.
07:48:00 ER: you kinda can with a pymaric though, it just has to keep re-applying the spell
07:48:02 syv: Well there you go, that's pretty runnable.
07:48:48 ER: some of them are core aspects which result in them being core leeched, and some of them not, I think.
07:49:26 ER: also, unless you manually put things back how they were, the khert gets angry at you and agitation goes up.
07:49:40 ER: because it doesn't like having to fix things you fuck up
07:51:17 syv: Literally a godsend to a GM.
07:51:41 syv: "Stop making me track all this stuff, or I'm gonna have the khert fuck you up!"
07:51:53 syv: Almost like the comic was developed from an RPG~
07:52:01 ER: this is going to take 3 rounds to dissolve into "fistfight in the middle of a khert fire"
07:59:29 MidJag: And that's a bad thing?
07:59:43 ER: dunno!
07:59:50 MidJag: Who doesn't want to punch their fellow man in the middle of a magical god fire
08:00:59 ER: it's more like the layer of reality underneath starts running way too hot and bugs out
08:01:26 MidJag: So your fistfighting in the middle of an overclocked PC that you yourself are a part of
08:01:26 ER: ahh, want syv to read chapter 14 already :P
08:01:28 MidJag: Perfect
08:01:35 ER: pretty much
08:02:12 MidJag: I've always watned to do an MP oneshot where it's like vietnam and your just wandering around a forest fighting beasts and finding old ruins of the surface
08:02:20 MidJag: But French revolution is cooler
08:03:19 MidJag: ..resistance
08:03:38 ER: http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/comic/ch14/ch14_70.html
08:03:50 ER: so much Fun magical stuff in that chapter
08:05:43 ER: having a bunch of copies of a kid's face printed into the stone in a row? great
08:06:57 syv: I actually did read most of that chapter awhile back.
08:07:27 ER: soo goood
08:07:27 syv: Seemed to be pretty independent of the rest of the story, since it's just an extended flashback.
08:07:35 ER: pretty much
08:08:35 ER: there's the twins and ruffles and nanna in the not-flashback parts, but they're cool. they can stay
08:09:08 ER: how far did you read? did you meet salty?
08:10:52 syv: The salt rock god?
08:10:53 syv: Yes.
08:10:56 MidJag: So too much magic overwhelms reality and makes it try to kill you so that it can have a lie down?
08:11:17 syv: I think I read to the completion of the flashback, then stopped because I clearly needed context.
08:11:58 ER: Shaensigin, the salt lizard!
08:12:46 ER: I think the last page of 14 is still in the past, technically
08:13:00 ER: though it's of something duane didn't literally see himself
08:15:13 ER: oh yeah, there's a page of real life near the end, and we see duane look dead inside and also outside but that's normal
08:15:30 ER: and then the last two pages are
08:15:32 ER: :D
08:15:58 ER: http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/comic/ch14/ch14_132.html
08:16:10 ER: really just beautiful
08:17:04 MidJag: Well then. I just read book 1 and book 2 of that broodhollow thing
08:17:07 MidJag: It's quite good.
08:17:13 ER: yay
08:17:18 ER: not read unsounded~
08:17:30 syv: MJ, casually saying "Yeah I just read those two books you linked earlier tonight"
08:17:35 syv: I can double the Unsounded rec.
08:17:37 MidJag: Captures that feeling of being relentelleslly driven by a need to know something or find out what happens next even a tthe cost of everything else.
08:17:50 MidJag: And I mean they're comic books.
08:17:52 syv: One of the best webcomics I've ever read, which is mostly just hedging.
08:17:54 MidJag: And not that long.
08:18:33 MidJag: ITt's got kinda odd plot twists but I like the way they don't make sense almost. It matches the protags mental state
08:18:47 MidJag: How long is unsouned?
08:19:04 ER: broodhollow is really good though, I'm glad you read it
08:19:10 Elastic_Ridicule has joined #einsteinianroulette
08:19:13 Elastic_Ridicule: huh
08:20:06 MidJag: Also horror is best experinced either when drunk or delerious.
08:20:30 MidJag: stoned also works but you gotta be prepared for a bad time.
08:20:42 Elastic_Ridicule: unsounded is up to chapter 15 so far, and all its physical volumes are three chapters each, so I guess about five graphic novels? :v
08:20:47 MidJag: oh boy
08:20:59 MidJag: I will read unsounded....after July 31st
08:21:36 MidJag: Or in the brief period of overwhelemening rage I feel if my fucking MCAT gets' cancelled and my med school applicatons get consequentlly pushed back.
08:21:46 MidJag: One of the two.
08:22:31 Devastator: Ever read Digger, MidJag?
08:22:43 MidJag: I've read the enterity of digger and discussed it with you dev
08:22:48 MidJag: It's quite good
08:23:08 Elastic_Ridicule: if my counting's not bad, 1346 pages so far? :v
08:23:40 ER has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
08:23:40 Elastic_Ridicule is now known as ER
08:24:06 Devastator: heh, yeah.
08:24:10 Devastator: tempted to read through digger again.
08:25:45 ER: also, apparently Unsounded is nearing the end of "book 1" out of 3 :P
08:33:15 syv: I actually often find scary games and movies *less* scary when exhausted.
08:34:11 ER: I'm fairly certain that I just don't tend to try stuff like that when exhausted
08:34:44 syv: It may have something to do with me being exhausted when it's bright and sunny.
08:35:04 MidJag: See it's not so much scary so much as just more intense.
08:35:10 MidJag: I dunno.
08:35:12 ER: I feel like if I tried to watch the kind of trippy horror I like when my brain is actually drifting off the tracks, I probably wouldn't be able to remember anything after
08:35:15 MidJag: Just more pleasurable
08:35:23 syv: Most of the distinct times I've been really creeped out by stuff, it was because I was in the dark and imagined the things scuttling along the floor outside my line of sight.
08:35:34 MidJag: Like I watched seven on a plane when I hadn't slept in 24 hours.
08:35:42 MidJag: That was really quite something
08:35:59 MidJag: It was much more...intense then it would otherwise would have been
08:38:20 Devastator: hehe.
08:41:07 syv: I can definitely understand enjoying things more with less sleep.
08:41:45 syv: Around 20 hours awake, or with several consecutive days of ~four hours of sleep, I grow a sense of humor.
08:41:52 ER: I've definately become more of a horror fan over time. maybe just as my own life has become more stable and comprehensible to me, hmm.
08:42:11 syv: I have an odd relationship with horror.
08:42:49 ER: PS is horror for me :P
08:42:52 syv: It is by far the most natural thing for me to write about, and it's very enjoyable to write, probably due to my own personality being defined by phobias.
08:43:04 syv: Yeah, reason for that ^
08:43:16 syv: But I don't generally enjoy horror media if it makes me scared.
08:43:19 ER: well, also because of my own contribution
08:43:31 MidJag: I like horror but to me horror is the only thing I prefer in short story form.
08:43:50 Devastator: gimme classic sci-fi for shorts.
08:44:01 syv: I like interesting horror. Or things that are creepy to me, which I feel shouldn't be creepy.
08:44:02 MidJag: A horor book is an oxymoron because anything that long stops being scary because I have to step away and lose that intensity
08:44:14 syv: But if it's genuinely scary than I give a hard pass.
08:44:24 MidJag: I love genuinelly scary.
08:44:31 MidJag: I just don't see it much.
08:44:39 syv: Hum.
08:44:57 ER: never did play through all of SOMA
08:44:59 syv: Maybe you just live less of your life in fear, so it's more interesting. :P
08:45:02 MidJag: Course at this point I'm not genuinlly scared of much.
08:45:27 ER: maybe part of my increasing resistance is just finding things that are subtler in way that appeal to me...
08:45:40 MidJag: I guess stining inscets I can't see and heights are probably my two biggest fears.
08:46:05 MidJag: Oh yeah, death by falling.
08:46:12 syv: Height bugs me slightly.
08:46:13 ER: stining inscets
08:46:20 syv: Oddly, falling doesn't very much.
08:46:37 ER: it's not the fall
08:46:37 MidJag: Worst time I've ever had was a plane ride where the fucking thing was bouncing all over the place.
08:46:44 ER: it's the sudden stop at the end~
08:46:47 syv: Stinging insects are irritating, not scary to me at all.
08:46:58 syv: Sudden stop isn't scary at all either.
08:47:05 ER: crunch~
08:47:26 MidJag: I used to be terrified of them now it's more just I get on edge when I lose track of them.
08:47:33 ER: it's a little scary to be shot in the head, but maybe less than being shot in the heart
08:47:39 syv: That's me with people, MJ.
08:47:57 syv: Hate it when people are behind me.
08:48:00 MidJag: Apperentlly working in a fly lab forces one to get over a fear of insecents
08:48:05 ER: <.<
08:48:09 ER: love being behind people
08:48:16 syv: Me too, actually.
08:48:23 ER: advantage state!
08:48:26 MidJag: I have never had an issue with people being behind me.
08:48:36 MidJag: Unless I sincrelly don't trust them.
08:48:39 MidJag: And then yes.
08:48:42 syv: Maybe you actually would like meeting MJ, ER.
08:49:00 syv: He has very little sense of being flanked.
08:49:12 MidJag: I like being in front.
08:49:13 ER: oh, I'll be meeting him but he won't be meeting me~
08:50:32 MidJag: I wasn't the worst host when you came over syv. I just never stop talking.
08:50:52 ER: oh no
08:50:57 MidJag: I'm like several blond steretypes condenessed into one.
08:51:52 syv: Oh, certainly far from a bad host.
08:52:16 ER: man, you hosted him?
08:52:29 ER: I'm pretty sure I technically didn't do any of that :P
08:52:36 syv: You're basically a male manic pixie dream girl, just without the "dragging other people along".
08:52:59 syv: Yeah, you were to me as I was to him.
08:52:59 MidJag: huh, that's probably a good way of putting it.
08:53:14 syv: Except with the guns.
08:53:20 syv: You have more talent with guns, ER.
08:53:32 ER: bang!
08:53:36 syv: MJ put his skillpoints into med, I guess.
08:53:49 ER: my med's probably gotta be at -2
08:54:02 MidJag: My brains pretty much made out of minmaxing, so it's kinda a crapshoot what I end up being good at.
08:54:29 ER: I'm built for both melee and ranged, apparently
08:57:13 ER: and... what else? is that it?
08:57:38 ER: uh, washing dishes, apparently. they say I'm better at that than other people
08:58:14 ER: so I guess I can either be a cleaning minion, or a gun-and-sword barbarian with mutant blood
08:58:19 ER: hmm
08:59:46 ER: thic blood. Don't bleed much.
09:00:14 MidJag: oooh, neanderthal traits?
09:00:21 syv: Nah, you're a rogue, definitely.
09:00:27 MidJag: ....Genes I mean?
09:00:37 syv: Quiet and unassuming, precision strikes then skeddadle.
09:00:38 ER: oh yeah, I am pretty silent
09:00:47 MidJag: I would be the worst rouge.
09:00:56 syv: Definitely.
09:01:06 ER: rogue with a survival mutation tho
09:01:12 syv: You're probably a paladin, MJ?
09:01:24 syv: I'd say cleric because heals, but you're not a cleric.
09:01:35 MidJag: Why am I not a cleric?
09:01:45 MidJag: I'm genuinerlly curious.
09:01:50 syv: I cannot imagine you preaching.
09:02:09 syv: You also strike me as more of an int/cha built than a wis build.
09:02:25 MidJag: Yeah, I'd be a terrible preacher.
09:02:53 ER: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Factor_V_Leiden that, I think
09:02:55 MidJag: But no my little brother is the ultimate paladin, he's huge and charismatic.
09:03:03 ER: always thought it was spelled leaden
09:04:25 syv: Neat!
09:04:29 MidJag: Very neat
09:04:36 MidJag: Hadn't heard of this before.
09:04:36 syv: What class am *I*?
09:04:49 ER: wizard, prolly
09:04:55 MidJag: Hmmm. I'd go with either wizard or ranger.
09:05:02 ER: I can't support that, but it's what I feel
09:05:15 syv: I'd suck as a wizard, I hate studying.
09:05:30 ER: sorc then~
09:05:30 syv: Aside from that yeah probably.
09:05:41 MidJag: I feel like you'd be some weird prestige class ranger that uses int somehow
09:05:44 syv: Because I'm jusr overflowing with cha?
09:05:48 ER: and dev is the goblin fighter, ofc
09:05:50 syv: Arcane Archer, MJ.
09:05:57 syv: And yeah, I'd go with ranger for myself.
09:06:24 MidJag: My twin brother is definetlly a sorc
09:06:45 syv: I think dev would be a fighter/barbarian/artificer/rogue.
09:07:19 syv: If you look at his sheet it makes zero sense and mathematically looks like it should lose to an equal level commoner.
09:07:20 ER: he's pure class whatever's least viable
09:07:42 syv: But he consistently beats encounters higher than his own CR should allow.
09:08:04 MidJag: True.
09:08:10 MidJag: I support syvs interpration
09:08:20 syv: "Weird prestige class" is likely for me.
09:08:38 ER: okay, but should I go assassain or arcane trickster?
09:08:40 MidJag: I'd probably be either a paladin or wizard.
09:09:04 syv: Yeah, wizard I can definitely see aside from it not being a healing class.
09:09:19 syv: I could see you going with either, ER.
09:09:28 MidJag: A wizard with a shit ton of healing potions streapped to him
09:09:45 syv: Those seem like two different career paths you might take.
09:10:19 MidJag: ...Man, I just came up with the best DnD char. A wizard who thinks he's a healer and does that by just telekensising healing potions onto everyone.
09:10:21 ER: maybe assassain and grab magic initiate feat
09:10:38 ER: isn't that just an Alchemist
09:10:55 MidJag: Fair point.
09:11:08 MidJag: I could be an artificer.
09:11:10 ER: I guess MJ is the alchemist
09:11:20 MidJag: Or alchemist subclass of that yeah
09:11:22 ER: prolly makes his own booze~
09:11:34 MidJag: It's really not that hard.
09:11:44 ER: yup
09:12:22 MidJag: Yeah I'd probably end up being the alchemist.
09:13:05 MidJag: Just jamming random potions at people and yelling shutup and drink this, it's the only way to counter the other potion I just gave you by accident.
09:13:07 ER: you can always invest in mundane healing feats and such
09:13:44 syv: I could definitely see you being the kind of guy who brings his own brews to a party and tries to get people to try them and then give a rating to each one.
09:14:06 MidJag: I actually know a guy who makes his own moonshine.
09:14:11 MidJag: And it's awesome.
09:14:34 ER: "drink this. Okay, now drink this so you don't go blind."
09:15:53 MidJag: Entertainglly the best treatment for methanol poisiong is ethanol.
09:17:04 MidJag: Anyway, I should go to bed.
09:17:08 MidJag: Night
09:17:26 ER: kay
09:17:35 MidJag has left #einsteinianroulette
09:17:45 ER: so, what good jobs are there for a rogue these days?
09:18:40 ER: earlier when considering subclass I immeidately ruled out thief in favor of assassain, which probably... hmm...
09:18:55 syv: Locksmith?
09:19:16 ER: I feel like that probably doesn't use a lot of my actual skills
09:23:17 syv shrugs
09:23:26 syv: I don't really know what your actual skills are.
09:24:13 ER: thanks~
09:28:32 syv: :\
09:29:14 ER: my brain tend to go a little cloudy when I try to think about my own attributes, sorry
09:34:27 syv: Ah well, mine too.
09:34:44 syv: It's a reason to branch out and try a lot of stuff, find what you enjoy. And find what's available.
09:34:58 syv: I'm sure you have talents, even if you don't know precisely what they are yet.
09:35:20 syv: I do suspect something that uses your hands would be good, though. Maybe some kind of crafts, dunno.
09:38:15 syv: Wonder how you'd feel about being a mechanic.
09:38:30 syv: I suspect that's not your thing, mechanics don't seem like they're interesting to you?
09:39:04 ER: hate studying >.>
09:41:39 syv: Can empathize.
