00:58:33 Devastator: will do k-com later.
00:58:57 ER: the bird thing would be really good for some characters and really good for other characters, but for me it doesn't really matter at all?
00:59:16 ER: Makes it harder to drain corpses I guess, but I'm goodcop
00:59:30 ER: I'll just knock people out and then rip part of their soul out
01:01:07 Devastator: also, you're right about reminding
PW about three-day stuff.
01:18:46 Devastator: Healing Touch is an ability that appears in every game except Trauma Team. Because a game about a ninja princess endoscopy surgeon, an ex-surgeon detective with spiritual cellphone, an orthopedic surgeon superhero values and more needs to be ~realistic~

08:11:12 syv: I come bearing torrent info. Specifically, I thought to research the netflix dub of Eva. Turns out they redubbed the show entirely, and they actually translated it *more* accurately than the original.
08:11:38 syv: So... the people whining about the netflix dub being inferior are just fans whining about any change.
08:12:28 ER: ah, that would be the change they're whining about then
08:12:33 syv: So if we swapped to the Netflix movies, everyone would get a vocal cord transplant.
08:12:52 syv: No, they all seem to be angry about the wording of a few spoiler sentences that nobody will specify.
08:12:56 ER: well I don't care, I'm sticking with japanese audio
08:13:35 syv: Apparently Shinji said something that's kinda ambiguous in meaning, and the Netflix translation of that statement is more accurate.
08:13:43 ER: I'm having fun with whisperling's game
08:16:11 ER: I made a whole suit of armor made out of steel that's been alchemically made denser but stronger and put runes on each piece to make them lighter and more durable, and powered those runes with four trapped spirits.
08:16:37 syv: What are the trapped spirits from?
08:17:41 ER: These ones are fairly minor ones from other universes
08:18:33 ER: I'm just using the generic ones provided to us as power sources. We have like 20 of them.
08:25:51 ER: I also now have a shovel with a forcefield blade, some hollow spheres which I can toss around to grant me magical vision around them, and a ballistic knife with a blade that I believe would rip in ahole in someone's soul.
08:27:32 ER: also a tatto on my forhead of a rune which lets me see everything in a five meter radius
08:28:13 ER: it's not quite sixth sense, think it lacks the resolution to look at atoms. But it is fun.
08:28:54 syv: Wonder if he got the idea from the same place.

08:30:14 RC: Hello people who should be working but who clearly aren't.
08:30:25 RC: (this statement might be autobiographical)
08:31:14 RC: No quarantine will free me from having to write on this thing, even though it's eeeeeeh.
08:31:58 RC: A review I'm not overly interested in, but the boss wants it so here we go.
08:33:14 RC: Ooh, I recently managed to finish a run of synthetik though, that was fun.
08:33:33 RC: Usually don't play roguelikes but this one is pretty fun so far.
08:33:43 Devastator: also
syv, there's a game with comparable playtimes where you're better than I am.
08:33:52 Devastator: Yeah, it's not bad at all.
08:34:27 RC: Redently played some co-op with someone, and at some point we produced so much dakka his game crashed.
08:35:26 ER: then cly you didn't use enough dakka
08:36:16 RC: Mostly been sticking to the raider class, should try the others as well sometime.
08:36:59 RC: Then again, if I can destroy the heart of armageddon with this class on 140% difficulty it'll grant a small global bonus, so maybe should try that first.
08:37:31 syv: You're better than me at Synthetik,
Dev.
08:37:38 syv: I'm just really good at finding exploits.
08:38:20 syv: Does Raider give any relevant bonus for a win?
08:38:30 RC: Oh, what exploits have you found?
08:38:46 syv: Assassin can dodge stack to beyond 100% dodge.
08:38:46 RC: Raider gives a global +3% in speed if you beat it at 140%, iirc.
08:39:24 RC: I tried assassin like once.
08:39:30 syv: You can equip two copies of one... trait? Feat? The class specials that can swapped out. Though admittedly I read about that one.
08:39:35 Devastator: please, by any absolute measure you've beaten it and I haven't. ;-p
08:39:45 RC: (haven't played all that much yet)
08:39:53 syv: Yes, and I beat it by stacking dodge to invulnerability.
08:40:03 RC: Are you sure you can stack the same trait?
08:40:08 Devastator: yeah, I tried a lot of times.
08:40:12 RC: Or is that only for assassin?
08:40:23 RC: I tried it for raider nce but it wouldn't let me.
08:40:29 syv: It might've been patched. You can do it on any class.
08:40:43 RC: Hmm, yeah, maybe it got patched out.
08:40:55 syv: There's a specific way to do it, I forget precisely. Maybe it was unequipping both traits, then equipping the second one first?
08:41:13 RC: Oh, then maybe it's still in.
08:41:38 RC: Could try it, but wouldn't want to rely on it to win though, seems a bit, erm, cheap :v
08:42:14 RC: Haven't yet managed to destroy the armored transport, only encountered it 3 times so far though.
08:42:27 RC: Maybe with the right weapon and some way to stun it, hmm.
08:42:40 syv: Stuns and way too much DPS, yeah.
08:43:25 RC: Got decently close last time with pan but then his game crashed :v
08:43:46 RC: My laptop also slows down when there's a lot of dakka.
08:43:54 RC: and in the disco room a bit.
08:45:04 RC: The second time I encountered those two tanks I managed to take both out in 3 shots due to a stupidly upgraded nemesis prototype, that was funny.
08:46:14 Devastator: I did kill it on my own in another game.
08:46:22 Devastator: and yeah, you need stuns and loads of damage.
08:46:30 Devastator: bear traps are good too, almost stop it.
08:47:01 Devastator: never beaten the disco room of the final boss.
08:47:22 RC: Maybe I'll try to build for that next time, though it also depends on luck with drops and shops and such.
08:48:20 RC: I beat the disco room on the second try, but that was with a VERY good run in terms of gear and such, and still got deleted at the boss ;_;
08:49:18 Devastator: I think in the first case I would have killed the boss. Had an absurdly good gun.
08:49:21 RC: The sustainability from a lot of health and good health regen really saved me there, and double dash made the blue tiles a bit easier to avoid/dash over.
08:49:24 Devastator: second try was much poorer armed.
08:50:55 RC: Yeah, the one run I beat the boss I had a laser shotgun of sorts that was frankly OP. Very lucky. Managed to beat the 1st boss again in the loop, but after that my health regen and health were slashed so much I was too fragile to last many rooms more.
08:51:14 RC: (and it was like 3 AM at that point :v )
08:51:48 Devastator: oh, there's a loop?
08:52:20 RC: Yeah, after beating the final boss you restart at floor 1 but with big debuffs.
08:52:33 RC: And the debuffs get harsher every room you move on.
08:53:01 Devastator: don't you get those while playing normally?
08:53:08 Devastator: ie, more vulnerable?
08:53:53 RC: Not really, right? Enemies get more dangerous but your own stats aren't actively reduced (apart from things like curses).
08:54:09 RC: If you die in co-op you do get the curse of the flesh though.
08:55:04 RC: But that can be cleared by beating a boss.
08:56:11 syv: The disco room is horrible. I think I've gotten there like four times.
08:56:29 syv: Tanks are easy on assassin. They don't notice it if you stab them.
08:56:54 RC: Yeah, there is a lot to keep an eye on at once.
08:57:08 RC: Tanks are surprisingly easy really.
08:57:41 RC: Hell, on the 3rd rime I saw them I had an item that can mind control an enemy. Used it on one of the tanks, and it worked :v
08:57:44 Devastator: isn't your physical resistance steadily reduced as the game goes on?
08:58:00 Devastator: Then why does it happen to my character?
08:58:04 RC: Not that I am aware off, but maybe I missed that.
08:58:06 syv: Sometimes stuff like that happens as a bug though.
08:58:10 Devastator: I go through, and the physical resistance drops like every stage.
08:58:17 syv: There was some bug they fixed that made stats constantly go down every stage.
08:58:24 Devastator: Ahh, that must have been it.
08:58:36 syv: It had to do with things that buff the stat not stop buffing it, IIRC.
08:58:39 Devastator: damn, that would make it much easier. It got to like 40 or lower by the time you got to the last area.
08:58:54 RC: Hey, maybe now that it's fixed you could beat the game easily!
08:58:57 syv: Ruined my first dodge stacking run, because my dodge started going down early.
08:59:02 Devastator: It probably would help, yeah..
08:59:24 RC: Once dodge is over 100, can you still take any damage?
09:00:24 syv: Yes, there's a dodge cooldown IIRC.
09:01:06 RC: I usually don't invest too much in it, but maybe I should.
09:01:42 syv: Anything else defensive is much much more reliable, unless you're stacking it to *very* high levels. Which only Assassin can really do, as I recall.
09:02:26 RC: Something like that medic smg is really good if you find it early enough.
09:02:55 RC: On SP you can just take things easy&slow and really buff your healing to absurd levels.
09:04:03 ER: uh, you guys are talking a lot, but I don't really care about synthetik
09:04:28 ER: so like, do you want to talk about something?
09:04:38 RC: Well
ER, what do you like then?
09:07:22 ER: I mostly lie around, like some kind of fatcat noble
09:09:27 ER: oddly, I do little exersise and eat whatever I like, but I don't get fat
09:10:09 ER: Maybe just me not giving a fuck and forgetting to eat.
09:10:50 syv: Yeah, looks like they fixed the double module bug. Found it in a changelog. Pity, it was fun.
09:11:03 RC: I'm also eternally skinny (though I do try to get exercise) despite eating enough.
09:11:21 Devastator: I'm a bit plump and I do need to watch my weight a bit.
09:11:22 RC: Handy, but big downside is that building muscle is quite a big more difficult.
09:12:01 RC: If you have it unlocked, I can recommend trying the daily random run.
09:12:19 RC: Getting some rando modules and weapons is a nice change of pace.
09:12:39 syv: Yeaaah that's kinda something I really hate about Synthetik.
09:12:46 syv: I'm not a fan of the heavy randomisation.
09:13:33 RC: I thought I would hate it at first, not being used to roguelikes, but it has grown on me.
09:14:04 RC: You can still influence what you get by using the drop rate tokens so you can still often get some decent modules at least
09:14:09 Devastator: can't you pick your weapons after levelling up?
09:14:21 Devastator: I mean, you can block certain weapons from spawning, forcing ones you like..
09:14:38 RC: You can influence it, but it's no guarantee.
09:15:11 syv: You can increase the drop rate for four weapons, decrease the drop rate for four weapons, and give a power token to four weapons.
09:15:18 RC: You can buy different starting pistols though.
09:15:20 Devastator: yeah, that's pretty godo.
09:15:31 Devastator: eh, I'll break down and try a run then.
09:15:35 Devastator: get back to writing after.
09:15:49 RC: It also influences wether or not they shop up in item/weapon shops.
09:15:51 syv: If you increase the drop rate of guns, one of them is also guaranteed to spawn in a shop. At some point.
09:16:06 RC: Especially for items that is really handy.
09:16:30 RC: Means you can normally get at least 1 or 2 items you like, and have them start a bit stronger.
09:16:37 syv: And unless they've changed it, all the tokens are removed after every run. So you have to set it every time.
09:16:50 RC: My tokens seem to stay between runs.
09:17:17 RC: Really? Weird, and annoying.
09:17:33 RC: I keep playing raider though, could it be that?
09:18:16 Devastator: yeah, I play raider too.
09:18:19 Devastator: it's just nice being fast.
09:18:30 syv: The tokens are spent *per class*.
09:19:11 RC: I also really like the raider knife, it stays competitive even on floor 4. The starting nade not so much though.
09:19:38 RC: Assuming you upgrade the knife a bit during the run, mind.
09:19:52 RC: It's almost a panic button at times :p
09:20:24 Devastator: yeah, but nade is still useful, even if not that great.
09:20:40 RC: Nade can be used to distract bots at the very least.
09:21:04 RC: But it's an item I usually recycle around floor 3, both for item space and a bit more creds.
09:21:51 RC: But I also get the airstrike at like 30 dogtags, that basically replaces it and is mostly superior.
09:21:59 Devastator: you get a free airstrike?
09:22:23 RC: It's a bonus for raiders at like level 15 or 20.
09:23:03 RC: Here we are. level 2o: Finding 30 dogtags grant the Aircom item Finding 60 dogtags grants 3000 credits and 2 Upgrade Kits
09:24:00 RC: I'm copying this from a wiki, it might be outdated.
09:24:45 RC: Huh, another wiki has it at 1000 creds, like you said.
09:25:22 syv: Prolly just more up to date. I had the game open.
09:28:08 syv: I pulled it up to check the double mod bug.
09:28:33 syv: Not really a fan of the game. I beat it once, so I'm pretty much done. Wouldn't mind playing it socially, but not gonna do more solo.
09:28:49 syv: I'd much prefer running another DaS challenge, or playing Spiderman racing.
09:30:30 RC: My drive to play also went down after I beat the boss once, but I'll probably keep playing at least for a bit.
09:30:41 RC: We could do a run sometime if you'd like.
09:31:02 RC: Fair warning though, I suck AND I'm a friendly fire machine :p
09:31:31 syv: Sure, but might be a bit annoying to find a time. I can only play at work right now, my internet leveled up to a new level of crap.
09:32:13 RC: Oh, hmm. Yeah, we'll have to plan it out then, not gonna be able to play until the weekend at the soonest.
09:32:15 syv: I still work every Sunday night, 0000-0800 EDT (it's 0532 right now).
09:33:13 RC: By the way, in mook, are you also planning to run away like some of our heroic comrades, or are you gonna try to finish them off with us?
09:33:39 syv: Uh, only running away if most of the shooters are too.
09:34:12 syv: I have like the best gun in the party, current best armor, and max gun, so running away would be pretty...
09:34:31 RC: '0000-0800 EDT' I could work with that, but we'd have to plan for it.
09:34:48 RC: Thing Is, I don't see how running will solve our problem, won't they just run us down?
09:35:12 RC: Tree dude is not gooped yet at the least.
09:36:32 RC: And they have a hatred for all things living or something. Maybe if we had some thralls we could distract them with, but nothing like that around, and there aren't a lot of side sections they can wander around in since we are beelining in a straight path to the target.
09:36:57 syv: It wouldn't be the worst idea to flee into the flooded section.
09:37:11 RC: So running away feels like it just gives
pw an excuse to have them harass us later on.
09:37:41 syv: Can't say I really disagree.
09:37:57 syv: I'm just not gonna stand and fight alone.
09:38:06 RC: Hmm, dunno, feels like we'll want to deal with them on our terms rather than leaving them to attack us unexpectedly.
09:38:40 RC: Yagyu isn't running at least, being a robot he has a better chance against the tree thing apparently.
09:39:00 RC: Wanna try dropping fuel on it and lighting it up, but there might be too many allies nearby.
09:39:26 RC: Though if that works and dog demon stays gooped maybe pan can eat it alive and gain sweet demon powers.
09:39:54 RC: (and then promptly go demon himself, but details...)
09:41:21 syv: Huh, Yagyu's a robro? Missed that somehow.
09:41:36 syv: Burning it is probably a great idea.
09:41:50 syv: Dubs rewards weird non-roll based ideas like that often.
09:41:54 RC: Just keep forgetting to update my sheet to reflect that...
09:42:24 RC: He might still roll for it and have Yagyu light some teammate on fire :v
09:43:02 RC: Might be able to get back to being fleshy after this mission though.
09:43:41 RC: Well, presumably the short-lived human-torch-to-be would care. :p
09:44:33 ER: they're not people, they don't get a vote
09:45:11 Devastator: wasn't playing too well.
09:45:16 RC: Disenfranchising the combustionally challenged.
09:45:32 RC: Probably just because you didn't play for a while.
09:45:41 Devastator: and no I don't have '1 new item in my inventory'. Do I have to work that hard to find out how to block that popup like I did the notifications?
09:46:12 Devastator: I haven't unlocked anything, btw, reset it after reaching level 5.
09:46:13 RC: I just ignore steam messages >.>
09:46:56 Devastator: After they turned off the default ability to turn them off, they've been much more annoying.
09:47:13 syv: If I did, I'd miss the nice arguments started by people on my Steam reviews.
09:47:21 RC: Ah. Some of those class level perks are kinda nice, though normally not make-or-break a run nice.
09:47:33 RC: Hah, wouldn't wanna miss out on that internet drama.
09:47:46 Devastator: If they wanted it to be a roguelike, it shouldn't have unlocks.
09:49:04 RC: I personally like it, since then a failed run still feels like you made a bit of progress towards beating it.
09:49:15 RC: But yeah, not true roguelike I suppose.
09:49:16 Devastator: Yeah. I hate that mechanic.
09:49:29 Devastator: It's just psychology. Should have all the perks to begin with.
09:49:30 syv: That's just what The Man wants you to feel, Radio.
09:49:41 RC: Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
09:49:43 syv: That fun isn't *real* fun, it's fake fun.
09:49:45 Devastator: if it's fun enough to have all the time, then why not give it immediately?
09:50:16 RC: Maybe The Man can be the daddy I never had.
09:50:24 ER: Any failed run in roguelike is factually a step towards beating it, metaprogression or not. mechanical bonuses from failed runs just cheapens your own progression.
09:50:41 RC: Well, one things is that you can ease people into giving them all the options instead of overwhelming them.
09:51:45 ER: the random generator should be a generator for interesting situations. If you add thing to the generator over time, then you've just made it worse to start off with.
09:52:48 Devastator: At least it isn't like some of them where all the later classes are so absurdly better it's insulting.
09:52:51 syv: Assuming that there's only one optimal state for the generator,
ER.
09:52:58 RC: Meh. I like the feeling of progression in addition to just becoming better at the game.
09:53:24 RC: Even though I stick with the starting items for the most part.
09:53:35 Devastator: Yeah. It isn't that bad in Synthetik, really.
09:53:39 syv: Yeah, I agree Radio. Unlocking stuff is fun, as long as it doesn't become grinding.
09:53:40 Devastator: not like Tribes Ascend.
09:53:45 syv: And hell, sometimes even if it is.
09:54:04 syv: They fixed most of the problems with T:A,
Dev.
09:54:15 Devastator: Yes, which is the most hilarious part.
09:54:21 Devastator: 90% of the changes were to be 'more like tribes 2'.
09:54:24 syv: Also, they did it as a F2P model.
09:54:44 RC: That's true though, I don't have much patience for grinding. Not sure if I could still play a pokemon game now, for example.
09:54:53 Devastator: It's better now, but the biggest issue is still there, spawning with your full gear.
09:55:02 Devastator: no teamwork required that way.
09:55:06 syv: Not if you just buy it. :P
09:55:19 Devastator: I meant unlocks in T:A, yeah.
09:55:24 Devastator: it had gameplay issues too.
09:55:28 Devastator: but the unlocks were insultingly bad.
09:55:30 syv: Yeah, nah, T:A needs teamwork if the enemy team uses teamwork.
09:55:51 syv: Skilled solo players don't carry the game over people who talk.
09:56:36 syv: As for unlocks, well, I don't like F2P monetization methods either, but I also wouldn't have tried the game in the first place if they didn't use them.
09:56:48 syv: And for people who are willing to pay, well, that gets you all the unlocks now.
09:57:11 syv: Pretty sure, anyway. Haven't touched it in over a year at least.
10:00:33 syv: I don't care about quarantine, but having to cut off part of my face really sucks.
10:01:15 syv: Have to wear an N95 today. Doesn't really work with a beard.
10:01:37 RC: Didn't know you had a beard though!
10:01:42 syv: So now I'm clean shaven for... pretty much the first time since I started growing a beard.
10:01:53 RC: What kind of beard are (were) we talking here?
10:02:40 syv: I have no idea about what names or whatever, just trimmed it to what I felt looked nice. Medium size? Small for a dwarf.
10:03:03 Devastator: what's the phrasing for dwarf fortress when you destroy a part through piercing damage?
10:03:11 Devastator: "It is pierced through?" or what?
10:05:45 RC: (with all the ~ that implies)
10:07:30 syv: But yeah, now my face looks and feels dumb.
10:07:33 ER: cloven asunder or something
10:08:28 Devastator: eh, someone will correct me for getting it wrong.
10:09:29 RC: Isn't slashing fairly distinct from piercing?
10:09:59 syv: More or less. It *is* DF, so they're fairly close mechanically.
10:10:57 RC: Iirc for sharp melee weapons there are 3 'damage types' usually recognized: piercing, slashing and the thing you do with an axe (hacking?).
10:12:08 Devastator: I think I'm going to be a bit perfunctory with the update, skimming the blow-by blow bit of the post-tank battle.
10:12:13 syv: Thought it was just piercing, slashing, and blunt...
10:12:14 Devastator: it's depressing to write.
10:12:34 RC: I got this from a book on medieval melee weapons I read way back when.
10:13:06 RC: Ah, ok, I was talking RL. :v
10:13:12 syv: Surprisingly, it is simpler than real life. ;p
10:15:09 syv: Yeah. Easier to exploit, too.
10:15:29 syv: I wish I had known how good "born into money" was, early enough to take it.
10:15:49 syv: Not worth gaining "decent writer" instead.
10:16:05 ER: hmm, didn't manage to destory the part, despite being an elephant man with max skills
10:16:08 RC: Could try to respec. your character traits.
10:16:53 Devastator: pick a smaller target.
10:17:02 syv: Nah, I took lazy flaws that made that harder. You know me, minmaxing constsntly, always sure I've found the best build.
10:17:14 ER: was a badger man. smaller than humans
10:17:45 syv: Could make yourself bigger, too. BCs are huuuge.
10:17:53 RC: Maybe the next update will buff those perks, I heard we're long overdue for a rebalance anyway.
10:18:04 syv: Whale person might be larger, I forget it they're s thing.
10:18:31 syv: Uuugh, don't remind me. Rebalances are always so stressful to think about.
10:19:27 RC: In that case, maybe consider picking up 'not giving a shit' next lvl-up.
10:20:10 ER: I was a whale person the first time and didn't even kill, but i forgot skills. also noticed I was drowning so went for elephant
10:20:48 RC: Also, unrelated, people are forging plans to mount a big gatling gun on Nyw's shoulder and then ride him to fire it.
10:21:06 RC: And on that note, I bid you gentlemen adieu!
10:21:13 syv: That is awesome and I support it 120%
10:21:20 ER: ah, well, explodes into gore is for blunt force
10:22:05 ER: ah, just got severed part sails off in an arc from a stab
10:22:59 syv: All damage works about the same way IIRC, different classes of damage just result from relative weapon numbers.
10:23:15 syv: Relative contact area and whatnot.
10:28:43 ER: huh, I got a "and the skull splits in gore" from gauging an eye
10:29:40 Devastator: Man, very glad I'm not playing mook.
10:30:02 Devastator: yeah, should be attacking a cat or something.
10:30:11 syv: Was your finger not larger than their skull?
10:30:15 ER: other eye gauge gets me a "part splits in gore"
10:30:53 ER: when I stabbed it in the head, the head just popped off
10:32:03 Devastator: maybe it's only for torso attacks.
10:32:16 Devastator: 'the part flies off in a bloody arc' is the same for every part, IIRC.
10:33:05 ER: "the force bends the head and the part is smashed into the body, and unrecognisable mass!"
10:33:08 Devastator: string dump on the wiki says "pierced through entirely"
10:34:10 Devastator: smashed into the body, an unrecognizable mass
10:34:11 Devastator: split in half from the crown to the chin
10:34:14 Devastator: pierced through entirely
10:35:05 Devastator: "has been attacked by own dead mother lately"
10:36:59 Devastator: Huh, these are still in there.
10:37:03 Devastator: You have discovered a river.
10:37:05 Devastator: You have discovered an underground river.
10:37:06 Devastator: You have discovered an underground pool.
10:37:08 Devastator: You have discovered a magma pool.
10:37:09 Devastator: You have discovered a magma pipe.
10:37:11 Devastator: You have discovered a large chasm cleft through the mountain.
10:37:12 Devastator: You have discovered a deep pit in the mountain.
10:37:14 Devastator: You have broken into a peculiar chamber through the base of the mountain.
10:50:41 syv: It'd be neat if insane dwarves could get random thoughts that didn't actually happen. Schizophrenic dwarf hallucinates a zombie mom.
10:51:25 Devastator: That's a good idea.
10:51:29 Devastator: should tell Toady that.
11:05:02 syv: I don't think I've ever posted in the suggestions forum.
11:05:13 syv: That seems too obvious to not have been suggested.
11:58:17 syv: Hmm. Not watching it right now, but the comments are talking about The Horror of Amigara Fault, and also Made in Abyss.
11:58:26 syv: Maybe I actually *should* watch Made in Abyss.
12:16:52 ER: that's prolly better than magia record anyways ;p
12:30:07 syv: You know, the studio that animated PM3 and Rebellion?
12:30:21 syv: The reason the labyrinths are so schizo?
12:30:43 syv: And why so much of the world is creepy and subtly wrong?
12:31:00 ER: there are infinite universes worth of things that I don't know or keep track of
12:31:07 syv: And why all the characters have a balljoint in the back of their skull?
12:36:19 syv: Apparently Shaft is famous for this exact thing.
12:40:09 ER: fuckin tumbler, tellin me to download their app while I'm looking at images
12:40:43 syv: At least it's not pinterest?
12:52:12 ER: I haven't really gotten anywhere with that scavenger game I was thinking of running, because I'm not sure how to come up with a good map of the city, or how to handle exploration without a map.
12:54:19 syv: Have you played around with grid cartographer?
12:56:32 ER: A little. still not sure what to do with it, really.
12:59:24 syv: If you can't figure out a way to make it good, then just roll a d6 for each tile.
12:59:42 syv: 1 means there's something stupid dangerous there, 5 means really nice useful stuff.
13:00:08 syv: Maybe roll multiple dice, one for danger one for loot, one for whatever.
13:00:43 syv: Once you've got a decently large area rolled out, you can start thinking about why areas are the way they are, figure out the history of the city backwards.
13:10:47 ER: I probably need to sleeo a lot more than I have been, really
13:41:48 syv has quit [Quit: You hear a distant scream of "FUCK T-MOBILE!"]
