01:01:49 Dev: something game up, so maybe tuesday?
01:14:48 Dev: but I might not get home until very late night monday, so might bump it a day.
01:47:51 Piecewise: I have a bag of coins depicting the demons of the lesser key of Solomon. If I choose one at random, which will it be?
01:48:18 ER: here's a great and usable idea for
PW
01:48:50 ER: randomly generated dark souls item descriptions
01:50:12 Piecewise: The fifth Spirit is Marbas. He is a Great President, and appeareth at first in the form of a Great Lion, but afterwards, at the request of the Master, he putteth on Human Shape. He answereth truly of things Hidden or Secret. He causeth Diseases and cureth them. Again, he giveth great Wisdom and Knowledge in Mechanical Arts; and can change men into other shapes. He governeth 36 Legions of Spirits. And his Seal is this, which
01:50:12 Piecewise: is to be worn as aforesaid.
01:50:49 Dev: any of them look like a wolf?
01:52:03 Dev: Be nice to bring stuff like that into
syv's game. ;-p
02:53:26 ER: I MIGHT stress myself out too much when there's work to be done.
02:54:41 ER: everyone's complemented me on how good of a job I've done, and I can't help but stress out about doing better sometimes.
02:56:35 ER: well, doesn't help that most of the times I've come to work the closing shift person the night before had called out.
03:00:12 ER: ...I hope that doesn't keep happening every single time
03:00:34 Dev: you get over it after a while.
03:00:40 Dev: if you never do, there's stuff you can do.

03:45:11 Dev: and hell yeah, that's a fun model.
03:45:18 Dev: do they have the titular object?
03:56:46 Dev: I think all the items are called metal slugs, come to think of it.
04:05:26 Dev: That's the one that shoots down.
04:10:52 syv has joined #einsteinianroulette
04:15:38 Dev: Probably won't be able to do kaiju-com tomorrow, out of the house.
04:17:54 syv: Not surprised, if you're busy. Decently complex game, 'specially with so many players.
04:18:18 Dev: eh, first turn is the armoury list and the building list, as well as laying out the turn structure. Then it's orders.
04:21:01 Dev: don't have the stats done, but the actual list of items is surprisingly short.
04:21:10 Dev: You want it so you can see if there's anything to add.
04:22:49 syv: I don't mind looking at systems.
04:24:20 Dev: ey, systems are the numbers.

04:39:25 MidJag: Like probably 10 mintues, taking a break from studying/slacking off to try to reset.
04:41:21 syv: Talking to
Dev about his Kaiju game.
04:41:41 MidJag: How's it looking so faR?
04:41:45 Dev: the armoury's mostly done, although I'll have stuff to change.
04:41:47 syv: Apparently I won't be able to reuse my tactics from Trump's stint as a commander, and just deploy a hundred barely-armed jeeps.
04:41:50 Dev: the building list is.. ok.. but not ready.
04:43:50 MidJag: Why did that work so well in Aigres again?
04:44:09 Dev: I think the numbers made him explode.
04:45:49 syv: Basically, jeeps costed 1000, and conscripts costed 1000.
04:46:16 syv: Armor and weapons for one soldier costed >1000, sometimes waaay more, and if given to a conscript were kinda crap.
04:47:07 syv: Grenades costed like 30, and were one of strongest attacks. Jeeps provided armor comparable with the best infantry armor, and gave an amazing melee attack, plus amazing mobility, and they had a huge driving bonus to sim that mobility.
04:47:29 Dev: also, I'm liking the way the org mechanics and the mad scientist mechanics will play against each other.
04:47:50 syv: Concripts had penalties that made them flub rolls, but with the mobility boost from jeeps they could actually do decent. And with how insanely cheap jeeps were, you could field way more individual jeeps than you could field decent soldiers.
04:48:29 syv: It wouldn't have worked long term compared to a well-managed infantry force with few casualties, because jeeps only win via attrition, but I wasn't worried about that at all.
04:49:29 MidJag: I'm just imgaging like 2 guys driving a jeep filled to the brim with two grenades
04:49:46 Dev: two grenades, enough to fill a jeep.
04:49:52 Dev: I think it was only one guy per jeep, right?
04:50:46 syv: One guy per jeep, I think it ended up being like eight grenades per jeep.
04:51:44 syv: IIRC I mostly only had the nades to round off my costs, and I think I may have dropped a couple jeeps to get a few more per jeep? I honestly forget.
04:52:43 syv: But yeah, a big problem with basic conscripts using grenades (and the main reason guns were better for them normall) was that they'd roll ones and take out their whole squad.
04:53:25 syv: Giving them a jeep, which again was cheaper than armor + gun, meant grenades only killed one unit at a time, and sometimes not even then.
04:54:03 syv: Radios also costed 1000, which would have raised my price per unit by 50%, so I only bought four radios. Had four columns of jeeps, each of which was like eighty strong or something.
04:54:54 Dev: of course, real enemy would just take out first jeep, and all the other jeeps would be stuck behind the wreck.
04:55:19 syv:
Aigre actually did that, but for some reason the lead jeeps weren't targeted.
04:55:34 syv: And he let each jeep in the column roll to dodge, so I only lost like five at a time.
04:55:58 syv: And considering that the enemy only got a handful of effective attacks before the jeeps reached them...
04:56:29 Piecewise: They have the metal slug tank, and the plane
04:56:39 syv: I was laughing my head off as
Aigre kept rolling and rolling, and describing how many forces I'd lost, and then he said "Okay, so that's 30 dead jeeps", and it just didn't matter.
04:56:51 Piecewise: They also have a bunch of modular weapons for them
04:57:44 Piecewise: They're about 20 bucks each
04:59:18 Dev: I wonder if I could use them in place of warhammer miniatures.
04:59:18 Piecewise: the dimensions for those who speak science numbers
04:59:49 Dev: little big for that but not out of the question.
04:59:56 Piecewise: Interior is nice too
05:00:46 Piecewise: And some nice accessories
05:02:12 Dev: Used to have a machine for that at my college. I'd play one game a day, almost got to the point where I could beat it on a credit.
05:03:28 Piecewise: The kits are surprisingly expansive for the price
05:03:41 Piecewise: lots of effect parts, included stands, accessories
05:03:52 Dev: send me a link when I'm at home.
05:04:02 Dev: I'd love one of the tanks.. seriously, would order tomorrow.
05:06:51 Piecewise: You have access to B12 right?
05:07:50 Dev: Sure, I'll get that when I'm back.
05:11:24 Dev: now tell me if we all make it in Cabal. ;-p
05:11:32 Dev: oh, also,
syv, you confused naturegirl. ;-p
05:11:48 syv: I know, posted to unconfuse her.
05:12:33 Piecewise: is nature girl the new Ti?
05:13:07 syv: I'm not sure if she's got a melting heart of gold like Ti, but aside from that, definitely.
05:13:29 syv: Girl what played Feyri in
ER.
05:13:47 Dev: too many games to remember what's going on in all of them.
05:14:36 Piecewise: Bad case of multi-dimensional dementia
05:15:37 Dev: should at least refer to her properly,
syv.
05:15:46 Dev: half magical girl, half final fantasy white mage.
05:16:07 syv: White mages are magical girls tho
05:16:13 Dev: Yes, that's the character,
MJ.
05:16:18 Dev: There's some overlap, yes.
05:21:16 Dev: now, since she's supposed to go evil, I need to choose the right justification from the hideously boring final fantasy villain lineup.
05:26:18 MidJag: pick that guy that's the joker dude, he's got a fun design at least.
05:27:37 MidJag has left #einsteinianroulette
05:28:11 syv: Is he the Dancing Mad one?
05:30:08 syv: Yeah, the Dancing Mad one. Good song.
05:32:19 Dev: I don't think she can do the nihilist bit.
05:33:44 Piecewise: Should have fought Kafka
05:34:04 Piecewise: his dungeon would just be a never ending absurdist nightmare
05:35:00 Dev: that sounds more like something in Pumsy's.
05:35:09 Piecewise: And then in the end Kafka just declares you guilty of some crime you never committed and turns you into a bug
05:36:47 syv: As if I could manage to write a neverending absurdist nightmare.
05:37:18 syv: Piecewise, sure,
Piecewise can write insanity great. Me? I struggle to write basic emotional humans.
05:38:14 Dev: anyone can just write stuff.
05:38:17 Dev: writing people, that's hard.
05:38:42 syv: ...Man, it's disappointing that
ER doesn't seem likely to ever run Refine.
05:39:05 syv: I like so much about that game.
05:39:21 Piecewise: Harass him constantly
05:39:40 Piecewise: Get out the poking stick
05:39:48 Piecewise: sharp enough to annoy, but not injure
05:40:31 Dev pokes Piecewise about cabal.
05:40:57 Dev: time to let everyone spread out in 11 different directions again.
05:43:25 Dev: although I think Kaizo's sticking around.
05:43:33 Dev: and I gotta make nature that pixie potion.
05:44:30 Piecewise: is that a phrase
ER?
05:45:08 Piecewise: Outside of dumbo that is
05:51:43 Dev: nah, watching too much mario.
05:56:59 Dev: and the cape-granting feather.
05:57:11 Dev: I remember someone telling me the relationship there but I've long since forgotten it.
05:57:43 Piecewise: The flying suit is a tanuki suit
05:57:55 Piecewise: they're associated with leaves
05:58:31 Piecewise: specifically they can use them to transform and change shape
06:01:18 syv: The Tanuki suit is different from the flying cape though.
06:01:54 Dev: but that's the leaf explanation.
