05:06:23 Devastator: Bowling's good.
06:00:54 Devastator: hmm.
06:01:02 Devastator: probably a couple of weeks before running that kaiju game.
06:01:13 Devastator: got some things changing atm so going to be too busy for a bit.

06:06:12 Devastator: RGU back?
06:06:41 syv: Nope.
06:07:30 syv: Might update today. Almost done with the thirdpost, and the actual game update won't really be big, since it's just Alida screwing around.
06:08:16 Devastator: ok.
06:08:19 Devastator: Yeah, the big one is the timeskip.
06:12:43 Devastator: One thing for each player.. probably just going to scare the owner guy a bit then.
06:12:47 Devastator: will think about how to do that some.

06:28:37 parisbre56: hello
06:28:51 MidJag: how're you?
06:29:08 parisbre56: pretty good
06:29:13 parisbre56: on vacation
06:29:17 parisbre56: playing with a cat
06:29:42 MidJag: oh nice, going somewhere nice or just staying home?
06:30:26 parisbre56: I'm at my grandparents' place
06:30:35 parisbre56: they got a small house with a garden near the beach
06:30:44 parisbre56: so pretty nice place to relax
06:30:57 MidJag: nice
06:31:44 parisbre56: went to Amsterdam for Easter
06:31:48 parisbre56: it was pretty nice
06:32:12 parisbre56: Van Gogh museum was my favourite
06:32:29 parisbre56: some of his letters to his brother were pretty moving
06:32:51 MidJag: I've never been to Amsterdam, but it sounds very cool.
06:34:43 parisbre56: it really is
06:34:50 parisbre56: the city is beautiful
06:35:00 parisbre56: with all the canals
06:35:06 parisbre56: and there are flowers everywhere
06:35:56 Devastator: sounds lovely.
06:36:03 MidJag: That really does
06:38:40 syv: Water and flowers!
06:38:46 syv: lovely
06:39:38 Devastator: Are there lots of flowers in the swamp?
06:41:16 syv: No.
06:42:06 Devastator: hmm.
06:42:13 Devastator: lots of flowers around here atm.
06:42:51 MidJag: My university has a garden where they keep all these carniverous plants, it's awesome, because like carnivourous plants, but also kinda bad because they have an eternal set of gardners keeping them on life support because it's not the exact right enviorment for them.
06:43:58 Devastator: ..aren't they common in swamps?
06:44:28 MidJag: I don't live in a swamp though.
06:45:13 MidJag: From what I understand they have a bunch of pipes under the soil to make it into a mini swamp for the plants.
06:46:26 Devastator: mmm
06:49:02 parisbre56: I've heard that carnivorous plants tend to smell strange to attract prey
06:50:20 syv: Yes. It's just like how priests burn strange incenses to attract pray.
06:52:31 MidJag has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
06:52:41 Devastator: Heh.

06:54:18 MidJag: hmm, weird, wifi went out for a bit.
06:56:36 syv: It must die for its insolence! Go grab the shotgun.
06:57:01 MidJag: Nah, my lease isn't up yet, it can live for a while longer.
06:57:02 parisbre56: I blame solar flares
06:59:55 MidJag: Damn solar flares, crossing our borders, taking our wifi router jobs~
07:01:36 syv: they should all be shot
07:05:36 Devastator: out of a cannon.
07:05:38 Devastator: into the sun.
07:07:58 syv: yes perfect
07:16:53 MidJag: mmm, I should go to bed
07:16:58 MidJag: night gents
07:17:13 Devastator: night.
07:17:14 MidJag has left #einsteinianroulette
07:34:02 parisbre56: I've been thinking of running a suggestion game. got two ideas.
07:34:53 parisbre56: would you find the adventures of a military dog in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world in the process of rebuilding more interesting? or a young dragon hatchling exile trying to survive in a modern world where humans and newly emerged magical creatures are at war?
07:35:33 syv: Does the dog have thumbs, and the ability to operate firearms?
07:35:38 Devastator: Cut out the 'newly emerged magical creatures' bit.
07:35:45 Devastator: have the baby dragon have to go it alone.
07:36:10 syv: ^
07:37:14 Devastator: I considered running a game like that where you'd be like a dragon, and with each iteration the environment becomes worse for the new character. It would end when the current dragon fails to reproduce.
07:39:33 syv: But yeah, dog with guns beats baby dragon, baby dragon beats normal dog.
07:40:03 parisbre56: for the dogs I was thinking of 3 possible starting class choices. one being trained to use a tech device that can perform simple computer commands, one having simple weapons, one having a prosthetic arm
07:41:05 parisbre56: for the magical creature, I was thinking of the situation being "both sides of the war are kind of assholes, but you can pick a side if you want to improve your chances of survival"
07:41:19 parisbre56: but just going at it alone in the modern world sounds fun too
07:41:58 syv: Iike dragon in modern world with no fancy special war.
07:44:36 parisbre56: hmm. I think it would be most interesting if you emerged in a city, since it would be harder to hide there. maybe you emerge out of some egg in a museum
07:44:55 Devastator: Heh.
07:45:14 Devastator: You poke your head out, it's Coruscant.
07:46:33 syv: DRAGON.
07:46:37 syv: JEDI.
07:47:11 Devastator: ..Huh.
07:47:15 parisbre56: duel of fates intensifies
07:48:10 Devastator: You have to run that now.
07:50:36 parisbre56: I'm not sure how I could run dragon Jedi. but I could run force-sensitive dragon. how long can you survive in croissant until your luck runs out and the Jedi/Republic army get you
07:51:48 Devastator: or the sith.
07:52:01 Devastator: doesn't have to be force sensitive, even.
07:52:09 Devastator: might be fun.
07:52:30 parisbre56: why would the sith care? unless they want it as prey for a hunt or to use as a weapon
07:52:49 Devastator: They love to use all sorts of crap as weapons.
07:53:17 parisbre56: unless you somehow befriend the Jedi and get an actual Jedi dragon
07:53:31 Devastator: And then the sith will want to turn jedi dragon to the dark side.
07:53:39 Devastator: but yeah, the sith are always looking for new weapons.
07:54:10 parisbre56: hmm. if it's not force sensitive, does it get breath attacks like in d&d, "normal" fire breath or nothing magical at all?
07:54:50 parisbre56: I mean, you could always pay someone to install blasters on you
07:54:57 parisbre56: so breath attack is redundant
07:55:40 parisbre56: did I say pay? I meant threaten
07:56:13 syv: What's a dragon without a breath weapon?
07:56:19 syv: Just a giant lizard.
07:56:35 syv: Implausibly effective wings, and fire, are mandatory.
07:57:01 Devastator: of course it gets a breath weapon.
07:57:17 Devastator: I don't see why that would preclude other weapons.
07:57:22 Devastator: but it's obligatory.
07:57:53 parisbre56: makes sense. 2 legs & 2 arms? 2 legs only? or 4 legs?
07:58:20 Devastator: I'd give it four legs. Playing a two-legged one in Oz's game, and it precludes weapons that you can't hold in your mouth.
07:59:54 parisbre56: hmm. okay. 4 legs but the two front have clawed fingers so they can hold things (but not as well as a human)
08:00:10 parisbre56: maybe a bit velociraptor-like fingers
08:02:14 parisbre56: era is old republic, right? I think that might be more interesting. then again, galactic empire might be more familiar to most people
08:04:35 Devastator shrugs.
08:04:39 Devastator: whatever time seems good.
08:04:43 Devastator: no jedi in empire era.
08:05:11 syv: Old republic, methinks.
08:05:22 parisbre56: hmm. yeah, that's a problem. old republic it is then
08:05:29 syv: Evil overlord dragon's more interesting than rogue rebel dragon.
08:05:53 syv: ...Though, there is the thought that empire would justify a rebel jedi dragon...
08:06:51 parisbre56: now I'm imagining a dragon shoved inside an x wing
08:07:34 syv: >Wedge
08:07:46 syv: "Shapeshifting rebel jedi dragon pilot"
08:07:58 parisbre56: heh
08:08:06 syv: Think we can work ninja and pirate in there?
08:12:03 Devastator: There's a ridiculously long galactic history. You can set up whatever kinda plot you want.
08:12:10 Devastator: plus plenty of evil overlords in that time period.
08:12:42 Devastator: Dude in x-wing picks up dragon egg. Egg hatches in flight.
08:12:49 Devastator: pilot now has to deal with a week of baby dragon in cockpit.
08:13:10 parisbre56: hmm. maybe you can only shapeshift after you eat a shapeshifter and assimilate their splanch
08:17:58 parisbre56: okay, I think I got this. going to start writing some notes about this ridiculousness
08:18:21 parisbre56: it seems fun enough and not complicated enough to take up too much of my time
08:19:34 Devastator: sweet.
08:19:36 Devastator: splanch.
09:26:26 parisbre56: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dlq24v6xz1edpn0/first.txt?dl=0
09:26:32 parisbre56: this is what I got so far.
09:26:44 parisbre56: going to give it a review after lunch and then post it
09:27:09 parisbre56: let me know if it's horrible
09:27:12 parisbre56 is now known as parisbre56[Away]
09:31:02 syv: Second sentence, "your" not "you". Later sentence: "So you PUSH, using your sharp claws to break the shell with a loud cracking noise you can feel reverberate in your empty stomach.", change "you can feel reverberate in" to "that reverberates through".
09:31:43 syv: Otherwise okay. I personally like longer sentences, but I tend to use a lot of run ons because of that... your writing is more grammatical.
09:34:36 syv: Since you seem to be trying to introduce the character as a dragon before explicitly stating it, you may want to mention scales somewhere, perhaps say something like "the eggshell scrapes against your scaly legs as you climb out". Maybe not though, eggs and claws prolly imply scales well enough.
09:35:05 Devastator: scales might not grow while the creature is still in the egg. At least not ones stiff enough to be noticeable.
09:38:11 syv blinks
09:38:16 syv: Thassa good point.
09:38:27 syv: Go back to sleep, Dev.

14:15:19 parisbre56: I need a name
14:15:40 parisbre56: I could go for something simple like "You are a dragon"
14:16:11 parisbre56: but I think something sort and descriptive will be better
14:17:02 parisbre56: maybe "Skyscrapers and Dragons"

22:51:11 er: You know, I've been slowly realizing for a long time that I've made a character build in PS that's kinda... antithetical to making good decisions?
22:52:03 er: What two stats did I pick to be cursed? Mercy and Innocence.
22:54:07 er: Which are kinda the two personality aspects that would help a person make reasonable and well-thought-out decisions.
22:55:49 er: Meanwhile, talented Purity. Meaning a strong force of will without necessarily anything to guide it.
22:57:41 er: So judging from my stats, Sophia should follow her emotion and conscience and to hell with the consequences.
22:59:49 er: Maybe not good for survivability.
23:01:48 er: But I guess what Sophia does is ultimately up to me, so I'll try to do better than those stats might imply. At least where life or death is concerned.
