00:03:52 Devastator: Or at least better ones. Hopefully things go better.
00:13:59 piecewise: Nah
00:14:07 piecewise: I figured he could find the "Lights on" button
00:15:06 Devastator: ahh.
00:15:18 Devastator: or just as bad again. ;-p
00:15:38 Devastator: I might start another char if that happens.
00:23:36 Devastator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f_3yOTN78w
00:54:08 piecewise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPfMATdVN-w
00:54:57 Devastator: Yes.
00:55:04 Devastator: Stryder is really someone.
01:00:08 er: https://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/meaning-2
01:04:47 Devastator: I like the one before that.
01:20:06 piecewise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGi0PWXGgv4
01:20:41 Devastator: Life before the internet.
01:22:03 piecewise: its quite interesting really
01:22:17 Devastator: yes.
01:22:22 Devastator: that does look nifty.
01:22:36 Devastator: Equinox, god that game needed a guide.
01:23:28 Devastator: Dang, doesn't flip far enough to see the Wizardry stuff.
01:24:03 Devastator: maybe later on.
01:24:36 Devastator: Kick it off by fililng Zelda II at the start, lol.
01:25:07 Devastator: Hot damn, that's amazing stuff.
01:27:30 Devastator: "imagine how awesome it would be to get paid to play the games and be an expert and help people get through them."
01:27:40 Devastator: "This is a nice map for Fester's Quest.."
01:27:45 Devastator: Had to be intentional, that.
01:28:41 Devastator: The FFL dragon is an original ms-paint drawing, if I don't miss my guess.
01:31:10 Devastator: ..that would probably sell for quite a bit of money.
01:31:11 piecewise: looks like it
01:31:28 Devastator: I want it, although I don't know at what price.
01:32:22 Devastator: AND HE STOPS AGAIN WHEN REACHING WIZARDRY!
01:32:24 Devastator: goddamn it.
01:33:15 piecewise: heh
01:33:41 piecewise: I have no idea what price they'd ask for that thing but probably a lot
01:33:51 piecewise: you'd think they'd maybe digitize it
01:35:36 Devastator: I wouldn't pay for a digital copy.
01:36:06 Devastator: (I'm asking about that because I made my own maps for Wizardry.)
01:39:40 piecewise: Nah but it would be cool if there was just a pdf version available
01:39:45 piecewise: for free
01:39:56 Devastator: yeah
01:40:22 piecewise: There are large collections of digitized gaming magazines though
01:45:18 Devastator: Yeah.
01:45:23 Devastator: but this is the one worth looking at..
03:44:06 syv has joined #einsteinianroulette
03:45:02 Devastator: hey syv.
03:45:12 syv: hey dev.
03:45:17 Devastator: Got a better topic today.
03:45:28 syv: Oh?
03:45:38 Devastator: what stuff should go into our base in Cabal?
05:01:43 piecewise: HONK
05:01:49 Devastator: heya pw.
05:02:15 Devastator: so people don't generally notice draining rituals unless it's a lot?
05:02:33 syv: Heya Dubs.
05:02:33 Devastator: or it involves an excessively happy young woman wearing armour hugging them?
05:02:59 Devastator: I do know it doesn't actually have to be hugs.
05:03:03 syv: Iould think the excessively happy young woman would be more distracting.
05:03:11 syv: *I would
05:04:00 Devastator: yeah.
05:04:05 Devastator: I still think rings would be harder.
05:04:22 Devastator: with people I think it'd be one spell to strengthen a relationship and one spell to establish a connection.
05:04:34 Devastator: with rings I'd have to link the ring to the person too.
05:04:40 Devastator: or self to ring.
05:04:47 Devastator: same person side.
05:07:16 Devastator: I'll still need like 3 spells to enhance the range, and probably big dangerous ones.
05:07:19 Devastator: but that's overhead.
05:07:20 syv: Self to ring, definitely.
05:07:35 Devastator: yeah, self to ring, and still need to make channel in person the same way too.
05:07:36 syv: Rings are an investment beyond the person you give them to.
05:07:54 Devastator: that's true, they might be able to swap them.
05:08:05 Devastator: but is that a worry? I doubt the game is going to run like 40 years.
05:08:55 Devastator: the thing about playing a monster is you'll either win or lose before then.
05:11:02 Devastator: and I mean, really, I'd like a couple mana a day.
05:11:06 Devastator: but what I really want is MORE.
05:11:09 Devastator: so that's just a number.
05:11:43 syv: Mm. And I suppose the mindlinks being eviler is a boon, to you.
05:12:18 Devastator: I don't know if they're eviler.
05:12:25 Devastator: It would allow for two-way communication.
05:12:30 Devastator: and it would be more personal.
05:12:41 Devastator: she'd get to know about the people who she is connecting with.
05:12:48 Devastator: and could cast spells back.
05:12:52 Devastator: at least, some spells.
05:13:29 Devastator: Nah, I think the others would also be two way.
05:14:03 Devastator: but the personal aspect helps.
05:14:21 Devastator: she'd know who is helping her out, and that would make it more of a real decision by people.
05:14:32 Devastator: instead of it being 'whoever has the ring today' it'd be 'this person, my friend.'
05:14:57 Devastator: when it goes to MORE it'd be eviler, but I don't think it'd be more evil to begin with.
05:17:09 Devastator: There are other tactical advantages, though, like it being harder for people to hijack your rings.
05:21:58 Devastator: I will admit the greater potential eveil is a boon.
05:26:35 Devastator: So what do you want to do with your alchemist, syv?
05:26:48 syv shrugs
05:27:00 syv: Don't have any specific plans.
05:27:51 syv: Would like to tinker, hoping for clockwork from the sculpture. Should get something interesting regardless, but clockwork is amazing. Even if I don't get it, we can go visit that crashsite again, go search for good loot to tinker with.
05:27:57 Devastator: Yeah.
05:28:14 syv: Beyond that, sticking with you and leechin--err, working with the plans you've already got.
05:28:17 Devastator: Can send you there with Benny while helping and then entralling townsfolk.
05:28:28 Devastator: I think he knows where the crashsite is.
05:30:06 Devastator: plus it'd be some funny RP.
05:30:07 syv: Alone, with no combat capable allies aside from Benedict? Ah well.
05:30:12 syv: More weight to carry loot.
05:30:16 Devastator nods.
05:30:21 Devastator: plus really, he's combat capable enough.
05:30:30 Devastator: maybe you can bring a guard too.
05:33:08 Devastator: I just like the idea of you talking to yourself and benedist just responding with occasional 'CHIRP!'s.
05:33:26 Devastator: or maybe he meows.
05:35:55 syv: Probably chirps.
05:36:57 syv: What's Benedict act like? Cuddly oversized cat? Idle lazy horse? Aggressive dog?
05:36:58 Devastator: well, screeches.
05:37:24 Devastator: dunno. Cougars are pretty close to big housecats.
05:37:30 Devastator: they're not that wild.
05:37:40 Devastator: Red-tailed hawks are fairly easy to tame for birds.
05:38:16 Devastator: I think he just likes to nap unless he gets bored, then he goes and walks/flies around until he finds something to eat, then returns and comes back. Probably a bit on the lazy side.
05:38:17 syv: Piecewise!
05:39:13 piecewise: huh what
05:39:23 piecewise: whatcha want
05:39:38 piecewise: place your order
05:39:58 piecewise: How does benedict act?
05:40:55 piecewise: Generally reserved, quiet, not afraid to lash out if annoyed. Think alpha cat mixed with the incomprehensible nature of a bird of prey
05:43:02 Devastator: would there be a roll to send him off with an ally for a day or so?
05:43:14 Devastator: ie, without me, and without abandoning said ally?
05:44:03 piecewise: he should behave if you order him
05:44:14 piecewise: as long as the ally doesn't do something dumb
05:44:26 Devastator: ok.
05:44:29 piecewise: like punch him in the beak
05:44:36 Devastator: should be ok.
05:44:42 Devastator: you think your guy would try that?
05:44:57 Devastator: I'm not sure your guy could even reach up that high.
05:44:58 piecewise: Even then benedict would probably just swat him
05:47:37 Devastator: ok.
05:47:49 Devastator: syv?
05:49:27 syv: Woop
05:49:35 Devastator: so you ok being babysat by only the animal companion?
05:49:36 piecewise: ah
05:49:45 piecewise: my opportunity!
05:49:50 syv: Ekrov wouldn't punch an elephant-sized predator, no.
05:49:52 piecewise is now known as sleepwise
05:49:53 Devastator: see ya.
05:49:59 syv: Bye.
05:50:06 sleepwise: good night
05:52:04 Devastator: or do you need more protection?
05:52:52 syv shrugs
05:53:05 syv: Depends on how well Benedict listens to Ekrov.
05:53:36 syv: He's a noncombatant, so it'd be ideal if he's left with allies that can, like, handle random encounters on their own.
05:54:54 Devastator: mmm.
05:55:00 Devastator: well, I could put an int buff on him first.
05:56:38 sleepwise has quit [Read error: Operation timed out]
05:58:35 Devastator: You could also RP with him.
05:58:37 Devastator: ;-p
05:59:54 Devastator: Could let you feed him a couple times.
06:00:42 syv: Eh.
06:00:58 syv: RPing with NPCs in PW games doesn't tend to hold my interest.
06:02:53 Devastator: ok.
06:07:28 Devastator: ugh, always too many things to do.
06:07:30 Devastator: I should plan less.
06:10:33 Devastator: Had a ton of things to spend mana on, and then decided to add 'acquire more mana' to the list.
06:11:56 syv: Heh.
06:12:07 Devastator: yeah.
06:12:28 Devastator: It would be really cool to be able to just bump it up 2 mana every time I knock off some gold for upkeep.
07:04:03 er: Bluh!
07:04:39 syv: Bluh?
07:04:43 syv: Er!
07:04:46 syv: It's awake!
07:04:51 syv: But for how long?!
07:13:22 Devastator: that's a zombie.

07:55:27 Devastator: ahh, new lowering the bar.
07:57:36 syv: Good one?
07:58:10 Devastator: Someone tried to get a written contract enforced.
07:58:18 Devastator: they were trying to hire an assassin, who ripped them off.
07:59:03 Devastator: I'm amazed that the hit man wasn't a cop.
08:03:13 syv: Wow.
08:03:37 Devastator: oh?
08:07:59 syv: Written contract for an assassin.
08:08:34 syv: I read it now, and well, it's a little saner I think since they were just conned by a clever jerk, but still impressive.
08:08:36 Devastator: yes.
08:08:43 syv: I wonder who came up with the contract part.
08:16:58 Devastator shrugs.
08:17:00 Devastator: I do like the link to bear guy.
08:17:17 Devastator: did you read bear guy?
08:18:00 syv: I've read it before, it is truly impressive.
08:18:48 Devastator: I like how he wasn't reported to the police until he came up with a less stupid plan.
08:18:54 Devastator: "Because I thought he was joking."
08:21:57 syv: Yeah, that makes sense. Also, drunk.
08:24:24 Devastator: Yes.
08:24:29 Devastator: Maybe I should make mana-draining booze.

10:31:15 syv: So this map-creation program tracks the rotation data of an object using four float values. Which confused me, because when I rotated an object 90° around the Y-axis, *all four values changed wildly*. And then I noticed that the last two were 1.984495E-07, and -2.005391E-07.
10:31:24 syv: I.E. those two values were 0.0000001984495, and -0.0000002005391. Unsurprisingly, replacing them with 0 doesn't visibly change anything.
