04:05:27 syv: Basically, the P90 IRL has two disadvantages compared to, say, a 9mm MP5. Firstly, 5.7 is smaller and has somewhat less energy. It debatably does less damage to unarmored humans, though that's a very fiddly thing and arguably it does more in some ways.
04:06:27 ER: Eh, even the weakest guns so far do 2 pain and it appears that the smaller bullet tumbles so doing the same damage as a 9mm makes sense
04:06:51 syv: Secondly, it has a large bore axis offset, meaning if you draw a line from your eyes, through the sights, out to infinity, this line will be notably higher than the path the bullet takes, much higher than most guns. The bullet impacts lower than it would with other guns, if you're zeroed for the same range.
04:07:49 syv: This means that at close range, room-to-room type stuff, a shot aimed for an eye (instant death) might hit the cheek instead (just a flesh wound). Similar for a heart shot, or really most vitals in general.

Bullpup makes the gun shorter, but length is about manuevering the weapon in tight spaces; through doors, around corners, turning around in corridors, storing in vehicles, etc. Just general mobility. In-game, none of the guns are so long as to stick outside of a characters space, so min range isn't due to length.

You need to make a snapshot rather than an aimed shot inside min range, so a bullpup with a bad short range optic would have a high min range. Same as a handgun with a telescopic sight mounted on it.
