04:01:07 Devastator: So you're saying, there's a chance?
04:04:57 Devastator: dying while in early access.
04:07:05 Devastator: I can think of another example, actually.
04:07:41 Devastator: When they moved the Phoenix NHL franchise a couple years ago to Winnipeg, they were perfectly happy to sell you season tickets, one week before moving the franchise, for a season that would never occur.
04:07:56 ER: was at a resturant, spotted a tiny tiny spider with a little ragged web in the corner of the window.
04:08:03 Devastator: I might e-mail Ross if I knew his e-mail address.
04:08:24 ER: There were lots of flied around, but they seemed too big and powerful to get caught in the web.
04:10:34 ER: For games that die before being finished, you could also look at Telltale dying.
04:11:20 ER: They fired most of their employees 2 episodes into one of their episodic games
04:11:41 ER: Which apparantly has to be bought as a whole season?
04:11:53 Devastator: "I guess crybabies will always find ways to ask for free stuff." free stuff that they...paid for...
04:22:24 ER: heh, watched that one today
04:22:39 Devastator: I'm enjoying it a bit too much.
04:22:44 Devastator: maybe I should play stuff like that.
05:47:59 ER: "This means you have to reset the game. This means you have to replay the entire World of Balance to re-access the airship. This means don't do that."
05:48:01 Devastator: Yes, glitching the airship to the start of the game.
06:06:43 ER: I like how all characters apparantly begin life as useless moogles and then transform once you name them
06:10:05 Devastator: That's not actually the case.
06:10:13 Devastator: (As revealed later.)
06:14:43 ER: statsless blonde terras who all carry an unreasonable number of dirks
06:17:58 ER: which then turn into useless moogles
06:18:07 ER: which then turn into your heroes
06:18:26 ER: snes game programming sounds fun
06:21:30 ER: "Both Strago and Relm have been turned into g-g-g-ghosts!"
06:23:12 ER: these characters start as blonde terras, turn into moogles, then turn into ghosts and then become playable characters
06:24:53 ER: ah, and ghosts can instakill anything
06:30:48 Devastator: Who you gonna call?
06:42:20 Devastator: I suppose that would be the literal meaning of Ghostbuster.
06:43:47 ER: SHADOW: "...... Why am I here...?"
06:46:33 ER: "In the battle with Kefka, he just doesn't appear. He's supposed to be added to the party and then removed, but the game can't support more than 4 characters on the battlefield at the same time. So he never shows up and the characters celebrate."
06:47:43 Devastator: THE CLOWN IS GONE! CELEBRATE!
07:15:43 Devastator: "We get a time paradox, and Terra enters a lesbian relationship with her own mother to create herself."
07:39:05 ER: ""n't support more than 4 characters on the battlefield at the same time. So he never shows up and the characters celebrate."
07:39:06 ER: [02:47] <
Devastator> THE CLOWN IS GONE! CELEBRATE!
07:39:06 ER: [03:15] <
Devastator> "We get a time para
07:39:28 ER: copy-paste is a little broken on this program
07:39:53 Devastator: doing more posting in the out-of-context quotes thread?

21:47:49 ER: I just watched a video praising an aspect of deus ex human revolution that ross complained about :P
21:51:22 Devastator: Which part was that?
21:52:58 ER: at the start, you're dropped into sarif offices and told to head for the helipad and go to the first mission. But a lot of people upon entering a new enviroment will want to explore. If you take too long, people at the mission site die and your boss chews you out.
21:54:48 Devastator: I thought Deus Ex Human Revolution was extremely linear.
21:55:22 ER: not much more so than deus ex in general I'd say?
21:55:49 ER: It's certainly not CoD, which is what I'd call extremely linear.
21:55:59 Devastator: Dunno. The first one was fairly linear, but they had pretty open missions as these things go.
21:56:50 Devastator: I heard HR was a lot more linear.
21:57:06 Devastator: CoD is more like "Completely linear."
21:57:27 ER: I haven't played most of them, but HR doesn't seem like a large change from the norm.
21:58:12 ER: Fairly open levels, and some story divergance.
21:59:13 Devastator: The tutorial in DX basically had you infiltrate a building and get a guy out, with the entire building and surrounding areas being modelled and patrolled by guards and such, as well as a few NPCs scattered about.
21:59:54 Devastator: Kill em, KO them, avoid them, whatever, and then your boss gave you a different briefing depending on what you did. I do think you failed if you set off more than one explosion, though.
22:00:19 Devastator: Including a pick of bonus starting weapon.
22:01:15 ER: the GEP gun is your weapon of choice for stealthy takedowns
22:02:44 Devastator: You could play it, and then play the anti-walkthrough.

23:06:29 Devastator: oop, multiple ones on the medic.
23:06:36 Devastator: Is it going to be a death?
23:11:03 Devastator: Well, Carolina is now at -3 life
23:11:09 Devastator: What's the requirement for a death?
23:11:59 ER:
PW set up a confusing system for that and may have changed it?
23:12:16 Devastator: I see a -3, a 0, two -1s..
23:25:23 Devastator: I have no idea, really.
23:26:20 Devastator: Oh, your life is also your damage resistance.

23:32:06 Devastator: Think I'll stream some DS sunday night.
23:32:17 midnightjaguar: Cool. I might be around. I’m not sure
23:33:03 Devastator: He on the bone zone?
23:34:09 Devastator: Just wondering if he'll be around to watch.
23:34:21 Devastator: Ask him what time works.
23:34:52 midnightjaguar: Ah he’s in Arizona I think so whatever time zone that is
23:36:52 Devastator: two hours behind you, IIRC.

23:44:20 Devastator: Interested in DS on Sunday?
23:45:12 Devastator: Probably going to bash my head against Dr. King for a bit before giving up and going back to the required bosses.

23:47:25 Devastator: You know, the guy with the giant crow-beast.
23:47:26 midnightjaguar: As are most thing
23:47:52 Piecewise: Also, whats this spell stuff?
23:49:54 Devastator: In Cabal. Decided to go with various sensory buffs and observe. If it seems like people are getting hurt or killed, I'll have her intervene.
23:51:55 Devastator: Also, if the monkey turns into a puddle from five seconds of moonlight acid or something, not going out into it.
23:52:30 midnightjaguar: ...moonlight acid?
23:52:37 Devastator: I don't know what's going on here.
23:53:31 Devastator: If it's attacked by a monster or something, might intervene, might not. If it's burnt a bit and confused or something, or unaffected, going out is on the table. If it's fried into a skeleton or melted into a puddle, I'd like to not bother with the rest of the buffs because I'm not going out in that.
23:56:44 Piecewise: Summon ape is fine costs 3
23:56:58 Piecewise: the d8 one fails and costs 8 *fug*
23:57:08 Piecewise: d6 one succeeds, costs 1
23:57:22 Devastator: so what happened to the ape?
23:58:02 Piecewise: You send him out onto the street and he just sort of stands around. When you tell him to come back he returns, seemingly unharmed
23:58:48 Piecewise: With your better hearing you can hear that the sounds are all coming from down near the lake and not anywhere around your building
23:59:09 Devastator: Anyone getting hurt or something?
